Why did the BBC refer to this as a "shock" result? Malmo have reached a European Cup final, something that Rangers never will! Before anyone says it. No interest in religion (Celtic, or Rangers). Unless the bastion of factual correctness Premier Sports a.k.a. In fact just checked UEFA and got this - The ties will be played on 26/27 July and 2/3 August. The losing sides will go onto the UEFA Europa League play-offs while the winners will compete for a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

If Rangers fail to win against Malmo they go into the Europa League play-off round. If they beat Malmo but get put out in the next round they go into the Europa Group stages.
