Pleasant in the sense you aren't going to make a wrong turn and get attacked by northerners/police- probably the most family-friendly away match possible. Plus you can ponder who they all used to support.

Really!!! You have been lucky, a lot of groups of wide boy, chav, ganster wannabees milling about. Got a bloke in my department at work who goes to their games because it's local and he had lost interest in Leeds, which I would think sums up the majority of their support

Maybe. I can't ever imagine feeling threatened in Milton Keynes. I can't believe anyone there has the enthusiasm to throw a punch.

Traffic a big problem at the end of matches at the MK Stadium. - would make sure you leave before the match finishes to be sure of making that train.
Thanks for advising. Google maps says that journey typically takes 8-12 minutes. Have my taxi booked for 16.55 hours. Is traffic really that bad?

Thanks for the advice. Guess I will have to leave a few minutes early.

To be honest I could be talking bollocks. I just know it took me forever to get back to the station from the stadium when I went there for rugby a few months back. They made it a no car zone around the ground that night too but I'm booked in to their car park on saturday so hoping that's not the case.

Some might say, not for the first time. Only joking.

Tim,

As you seem to know a reasonable amount re the ground etc. I wondered if you could answer a couple of questions.

1) I will be arriving from the Bedford direction. Any advice on the best place to park please. I don't do car parks!

2) Ideally I would like to sup a pint of trad Bitter before the game. Again, any recommendations?

Thanking you in advance.

Cheers

Best parking I know is around the industrial estate opposite. Head for First Avenue as an area and don't take my spot! Cheers

Not sure I'm the one to help you here I try and avoid MK whenever possible! We will be getting a train to Dav station and walking or getting a bus from there, bunch of us planning to go to the Enigma tavern, not been before I would suspect most of the proper ale places are on the outskirts, but if there are any MK people on here they are better qualified to comment

You could try http://innonthelakemk.co.uk/ for beer, eats and parking. About 15 minutes from ground in a south-easterly direction. If early on the train to Bletchley left out of the station and right at the main road about 150 yards on is the Eight Belles - my local. The Park is opposite the station just past the railway bridge. Tend to avoid The Enigma, but its the only other pub on route to the ground. If you can get into a Working Mans Club, then a few yards past The Park is the Bletchley WM Club. Sometimes there are buses laid on from Bletchley Station, but being an R's supporter I am rarely there on match days so cannot vouch for this.
To be honest getting from Bletchley Station to MK stadium is an embarrassment locally. Some small steps are being taken to improve this, but all too slowly for me.
Unfortunately Bletchley is the poor relation to Milton Keynes in the MK Councils eyes. Please do bear this in mind when you visit my manor tomorrow, but then an R's win will cure everything!
