Dortmund will be a hell of a test for us. On their day they would give any CL side a run for their money.

  2. The way I look at it is this... both sides are shoe-ins for the CL next season, so this is, to all intents and purposes, a CL clash.

Well, let's look at it this way.
Olympiakos were narrowly eliminated from your Champions League group.
They met Anderlecht in the Europa League following their dropdown, who sneaked through our Europa League group.
The Belgians knocked the Greeks out.

Take the likes of Bayern, Barca and Real out of the Champions League and the difference isn't substantial.
It becomes even less so at this point in the competition.
Are Arsenal better than Dortmund? Are Gent better than Sevilla, Villarreal or even Valencia?

  4. Good points, PNP.

Look at it another way. You get the likes of IQ87 and Pixie using that well-worn "your mum stinks!" taunt of "when is Spurs' next match in the CL!" but all of the English teams in the CL are currently below us in the league!

No, we are not in the CL, but we'd do far better than the one who are!

  5. Leicester 2 v 2 WBA

    Woo-hoo!

I was telling a mate, last night after band rehearsal, that the Baggies would get something against Leicester; and, once again, I am right.

If we beat the Spanners tomorrow night, we'll go top.

Thoroughly deserved it will be, too. We are the best all round side in the entire country.

Neutrals everywhere will be rejoicing, I'm sure.

... I suspect neutrals everywhere are actually rejoicing tonight. :)

  8. Leicester have done very well out of tonight.

You'll be hoping for a draw in the NLD.

The two results you were looking out for tonight must really give your players a nice shot in the arm, exactly when they need it.

Tottenham blow the only chance they are ever likely to have to go top at this stage of a season in their last ever game at the Boleyn.

Spurs barely mustered a notable shot on target. Reece Oxford, 17 had Harry Kane in his pocket for the last half hour. The Hammers cruise to victory and could (should) have scored more.

    Poor old Spurs. Champions you say? <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

    Goodnight all.

... posted last night after our game that there would be several more twists and turns ... we played some of our best football last night and might have won 4 or 5 - 1 ... once again predictions of us falling away are a little premature. ... :)

  13. I still believe that if we win the NLD, we will win the league, but if we don't that Leicester will probably win it.

So, being that you are indeed yiddimus maximus, can you please suggest some ways that I can really aggravate my fellow employees tommorow?

The reality is Arsenal, Leicester and City all gave up points they expected to win. Spurs gave up points they half expected to lose.

    United are seemingly unstoppable now.

Just took a peek at the table, we only need to turn over an 8 point deficit to finish above you. Possible.
