Just a thought but after the past weekend fixtures I would like to throw it out there. Burnley came from behind at Bolton to win 2-1, when was the last time we conceded the first goal and went on to win a league game ? I now think Middlesborough and Burnley will fill the automatic promotion places and we will be left to fight it out in the play off lottery. It looks like our play off rivals will be Brighton, Sheff Wed and Derby. We have played all 3 at home and not scored a single goal in 270 minutes having lost 2-0 to Derby and drew 0-0 with the other 2. We lost away to Brighton 0-1, drew away at Hillsborough 1-1, and have not yet played at Pride Park. So in the 5 games played against these potential rivals our record is 0 wins 3 draws and 2 defeats. We have scored only once. It does not look promising. I know I will receive the usual criticism but it is time to face facts and reality as I cant see us beating any of these teams over 2 legs
Very long way to go.... Brighton were clear five points at one point. So were Middles. Lots of twists and turns. One of the four will drop away over the next 5 matches. But it could be any of the four. Its going to be tight. However, on paper us alongside middles should be walking this but its not working out like that
Whether we're top or second, it doesn't matter how **** we play or are playing, I'll still go if I can.
We are doomed he tells us. We should have beaten SW twice. We should have beaten Derby. They got lucky. Brighton offered **** all at the KC. Do you want to bet against City being in the top 2?
Think you are jumping ahead too far and logic is a bit 'one sided'. After all the 2 teams you say are going to get promoted we stuffed both of them at home so what should we read into that? I do agree I'm concerned our goals might be drying up while others seem to be more prolific and in a week where the others have won, there is a tendency for fans to panic a bit . But we could be top again by Thursday night.
Before you know it he'll be stamping his feet & telling us he's not going anymore whilst Bruce is in charge.
What you seem to forget is we have a game in hand, infact I think now the Brentford game has been re scheduled we have two games in hand on Burnley, Brighton and the rest of following pack. I also think we now have a game in hand on. Boro so quite frankly saying we can't get automatic promotion is rather farcical.
Is it meant to be a redeeming factor that we should have won? Isn't it worrying if we should win but don't?
Someone a little while ago put the last 4 games on here of our rivals, we have the easier run in, but we all know City don't do things the easy way. In fact it would typical City to go to Boro and beat them 3-0 but then lose to TWS or Rotherham at home. We will finish top 2, have faith and believe.
We've got 1 game in hand on burnley, Derby & Brighton & boro will be level after they've played tonight!
I see your point but what I was trying to put over was that it was more down to our failings than these teams being better than us. Without sounding biased, I think we are the best team in the division, but we need to prove it.
I believe....let me you all say....I BELIEVE You can't beat a bit of preaching on a warm Tuesday afternoon.
In the words of Corporal Jones..... "Don't panic, Don't Panic". A long way to go still and we still have 39 points left to play for. Hull City and Middlesboro will be the top 2 for one simple reason. We are better than the rest.
Watching BHA v Tws last night showed that we're the team everyone fears! Tws got caught high up the pitch a few times thinking they could take the game to BHA! But when anyone comes to our place they shut up shop! I think we'll get promoted by winning games away! Starting at brum!
What some are forgetting is that our rivals have to play each other. They can't both get 3 points from these games. Avoid defeat at Boro and Derby and we are well on the way to winning the league
Reading was the last time we conceded first & came back to win. We've been ahead in most of the others since then so haven't had to come from behind often!
