    Man City.

Subs to start extra time: Navas: pacey, dribbles so well direct. Against tired players. Perfect!
Zabaleta: Surprised he didn't start, a defender who consistently hurts teams going forward. I think they are 2 very intelligent subs.

I said PL games and surely the idea is to try and stay up at all costs? I don't give a stuff about next year I care about the here and now and so should everyone else, including Teflon McNally.

I understand all you say, when you make your points. I just disagree. I'm, similar to while we are up here, with status, take advantage and bring in the players!!

It's seemed like we tried, and it was very hard to get players to come here, seems like we aimed for class players who we hoped would be drawn by the lights of the Premier League.

That wasn't the case, though I am very sure Klose, is he stays longer than the end of the season. I'm sure he will be a class signing. Naismith was a class signing. On the pitch, the way he moves, plays, shouts and team mates. You can tell he is a much better standard of player. He's trying to drag us up with him. I wanted a striker. Sounds like we went big for Haller. If he turned us down, it's not the boards fault. he wanted to play European football.

Who would we replace AN with? Nobody of any merit would want to come here, so do we turn to the perennial failures, Warnock, Pulis, McCarthy?

We have one point from eight games - our worst run. And yet still outside the relegation zone. If that's not remarkable and reason for confidence I don't know what is.

Results will pick up. We just have to hope that it's more than our competitors.

I was too pi$$ed off to write anything yesterday, but feeling better today. I can see us winning 3 on the trot against Newcastle (H), Palace (A), and Sunderland (H). With a good chance to win at Swans and WB. Will need goals from the likes of Bamford, who's not shot shy, Brady, Naismith etc.

Only one flaw in that argument - somebody needs to inform the coaching set up that he needs more than 1.5 minutes of game time to try and make any sort of impact! But trading Palace's splinters in his arse for ours doesn't do anyone a great deal of favours :(

Quite right, Cromer. No argument from me on that point.

I wouldn't want any of those guys but, by what yard stick can you measure Pulis a failure? He point with him is success comes at a very high price!

    Bah!

Indeed, if form of the likes of Palace stays as it is today, we have a chance of a rare win against them and I think we will really need that one. Cats and Mags at home should yield 6 points. It is a bit of a shame the Swans and WBA away games come before those two vital home games but if we can sneak even 2 draws it might be enough to lift the mood for the home games and the like of games with Watford & Man Utd might see a point or more in each.

But as you say, we need goals but CJ cannot be relied on for this, and even Dave is a bit hit or miss - Very uncertain times.

Just what I was thinking on Saturday Thai CJ's hold up play is brilliant, but he's missed some relatively simple chances (well, according to us armchair pundits think they were simple). Not sure what the answer is.

CJ for me is still a good option even in the PL. I think the team plays better with him up top, an upgrade would be fantastic, but what we need is the midfield weighing in with goals again. That was a large feature of the 2nd half of last season and i think CJ is a good facilitator generally in that, but we don't seem to be getting those chances let alone scoring them, I think that is in part because we have tinkered so much with how we are set up and trying to play.

    Bah!

Pretty much sums up my thoughts General. Perhaps if we could have a settled starting 11 for a few weeks, that would help. I'd also like to see Mbokani given more of a run out and why did we bring Bamford in on loan if he's only going to sit on the bench???

Just read on twitter that Seb and Wes are late calls for tomorrow's game against Chelsea.
IMO, we competed very well against Leicester, so why consider bringing either back in to the starting 11??? <doh>

Chelsea represent a very different challenge. They are not so dependant on breaking fast and getting in behind, so saturdays lineup and tactics may not be quite what's needed, but I'd certainly be tempted to give them a go as they were, I really wouldn't think either should walk straight back in.

    Bah!

If fit, Wes could replace Bamford on the bench, if not leave well alone (with Lafferty replacing Bamford).
