    Looking forward to it

Say it quietly, but England have a half decent team - although the bowling may lack wicket taking options in Indian conditions

England have been grouped with defending champions Sri Lanka for the 2016 World Twenty20 in India. Eoin Morgan's men will also face South Africa, West Indies and a qualifier in the second group stage of the tournament which begins on 8 March.
Ireland and Scotland enter at the first group stage, but have been drawn in separate pools of four teams.
Pakistan, who had threatened to boycott the tournament over a delay in agreeing a bilateral series with India, have been placed in the same group as their bitter rivals.

First round (group winners progress to second round)
    • Group A - Bangladesh, Netherlands, Ireland and Oman
    • Group B - Zimbabwe, Scotland, Hong Kong and Afghanistan
Second round (top two progress to semi-finals)
    • Group 1 - Sri Lanka, South Africa, West Indies, England and winner group B
    • Group 2 - India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and winner group A

The women's T20 take place at the same time, with both the men's and women's finals being played as a double-header at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 3 April.
The semi-finals will also be double-headers, in New Delhi and Mumbai respectively.

The men's tournament will carry total prize money of $5.6m (£3.7m), an increase of 86% from the 2014 tournament in Bangladesh. The women's prize money is up 122% to $400,000 (£264,000).

The men's 2016 event will be last biennial tournament, with the competition switching to a four-year cycle. The women's tournament, which began in 2009 and has been won only by England (once) and Australia (three times), is to remain biennial.

West Indies have been dealt big blows ahead of next month's World Twenty20, with both Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine withdrawing from the 15-man squad.
Allrounder Carlos Brathwaite has been named as Pollard's replacement, though the WICB is yet to find a player to take Narine's spot in the squad.

A West Indian cricketing crisis has been averted, with near full-strength team set to participate in the World T20; 12 of the original 15 picked by the WICB for the tournament have signed the required contracts. Among the three who have not signed is batsman Darren Bravo, who has written to the board saying he wants to focus on Test cricket. Allrounder Kieron Pollard and mystery spinner Sunil Narine had pulled out a few days ago, citing incomplete rehab work on injury and bowling action respectively.

Pakistan have received government clearance to travel to India and participate in the World Twenty20, bringing to an end a period of uncertainty about their involvement in the tournament.
The trip will involve Pakistan's first matches on Indian soil in more than three years, and comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board had raised security concerns with the ICC.
