It's slightly ruined by the trio being called MSN. I guess we should have an attacking quintet of Son, Kane, Yedlin, Pritchard and Eriksen next season...
I actually thought Barca were going to score while Arsenal were enjoying what might have been their longest spell in the Barca end. It seemed to me the longer it went on, the farther up everyone crept. I can see why Wenger was upset, as that’s about as basic a mistake as there is. But Arsenal have a 5% chance of winning the tie? I’d say their chances are slim and fat.
How about: Walcott, Eboue, Nelson, Giroud, Eastham, Rocastle Ian (Wright), Szczesny Arshavin Campbell, Ure, Nasri, Toure.
Martin Jol has been named as the new manager of... Al Ahly? Er, ok. Didn't see that one coming. The club is currently captained by Hossam Ghaly!
Looks to me like City are getting a free pass into the next round. At the moment Kiev have nothing. They must have done something right to get this far in the CL........like us in the FA CUP!!!!?
2-1. Wasn't really coming, barring the odd Yarmolenko run. Should be out of sight and now they're in a real game again. Poor defending, despite the deflection.
How does Toure miss such a sitter of a header and then score that? Such a weird player this season. Completely unpredictable.
I noticed the name of Benfica and realized it was 55 years ago we played them in the European Cup doing everything but beat them.I think that had we succeeded, the final against an aging Real Madrid would have been something of a doddle. I will say this about our European adventure that season, the game against Gornik of Poland was the match to remember. In the away leg they were leading 4-0 but came back with two late goals, losing 2-4. The old Spurs were absolutely pummeled by the press and tv. When we turned up for the 2nd leg, wow! The crowd were angry and the singing of Glory,Glory........must have been heard in Poland.I had never,up til then or since, heard a crowd like that.It just took you over.I'm sure the Gornik team were scared to death.....as we then went on to wallop them 8-1.(The best goal being scored by them!) Prior to the game,a set of Spurs fans circle the pitch dressed like Romans of old holding placards calling themselves Angels in retort to the negative press after the first leg. A little later,a local vicar called in to complain about the Angels. They, apparently upset the local clergy by the very mention of Angels. So they had to dress accordingly. Oh yea of little faith (in the Spurs fans!) 55 years! Where has the time gone........?
About 1/2 an hour with a visit to Wiki's Ar5ena1 players page. It gave my great pleasure to include Judas in the final word, kind of fitting actually.
