a meeting with Byrne where transcripts of the interview were given and also the messages sent given. This is what Johnson is saying.

By the way I find it bizarre that his solicitor has prepped him to say he didn't plead guilty due to the advice given by his solicitor who has now advised him to plead guilty on the day of trial. Yet nothing will happen to his brief.

However Byrne had the interviews and the messages and yet the club backed him. Short must have been informed.

I need a statement from the club as right now I have seen them to continue to employ a *****phile.

Gutted.

I think that admitting to sexual activity with a child is the very definition of a *****phile.

I agree that the club have questions to answer for continuing to employ, and worse, play AJ if it is true that they knew the full facts.
 
At the minute he is guilty of kissing a 15 year old girl, maybe touching her up and grooming her for whatever further intentions he had.
The club would have acted on the advice of the solicitors at that time with the information they had at that time.

Sorry Smiffy but Windy is correct. I reckon there will be very few of us normal men who have looked at a girl and thought "Phwoar" then seen the front and though "Christ she might only be 15 if that" not many will admit to it but I reckon we've all been attracted to an underage girl in the past - christ I know for certain that I will have snogged one or two just from my late teenage drunken escapades

You in your late teens whilst not knowing their age is very different from a bloke in his mid to late twenties who has already established that she is underage and goes there regardless.

Bizarre innit. There's a news story doing the rounds at the minute about a 16-year-old lad in Russia who's won a competition to spend a month alone with a pornstar, everyone is having a laugh about it, "give her one for me son" etc. The lad looks about 12:

Everyone matures at different rates, generally boys a lot slower than girls. This lad is almost certainly, mentally, less mature than the lass Johnson allegedly snogged etc. Yet everyone demonises Johnson but laughs about this. It's crazy imo.

Anyone hear about the Paul Gascoigne story when he was mid 20's playing for Newcastle and he asked out a 15 year old, who then told him she was 15 and she had to ask her dad, so he came to the house and her Dad was delighted that Gazza wanted to go out with his daughter. Same story, different parenting and reactions! No arrest.

Different times as well. Probably explains why someone like Bill Wyman got away with his. How old was she? 13??

I am not an expert but I suspect that the club is not allowed to make any statement about who knew what as it might prejudice the trial whilst it is ongoing.

Given that the club has clearly been dragged in to this somehow, I do think that they will need to set the record straight once the trial is over.
