Anyone hoping for an Arsenal humiliation is likely to be disappointed. ..imo itll be a norrow defeat at home and a draw away at the Nou Camp. The Goons are, unfortunately, looking strong and are beginning to get injured players back. I think they are going to have a good end to the season.

HIAG has got us absolutely nailed on for a complete battering, he's been banging on about it since the draw was made and has spent the majority of his time on here telling everybody how bad it's going to be for us. If by some chance we do actually get through this tie, or simply go out without being torn apart, he is going to suffer a major humiliation.

I'd disagree, rcl. I watch them at times here. They are on a different level to the Goons. Sure, the Goons might score, but that front three of Barca's will rip their defense a new one!

I get what your saying NSIS but Barcelona dont often seem to turn in on in CL against English Teams...they tend to scrape through.

Also, they only scraped past Las Palmas in La Liga at the weekend. Sure they can be utterly devastating on their day, but a 'slaughtering' is not a forgone conclusion.

That is very much in the vein of "Yeah, your mum stinks, too"" Blueman.

Sure, you've got to be in it to get humliated by this Barca side, but how many more chances do Arsena want to do anything even vaguely approraching respectable in this competition? I've said it before, but it's worth saying again, that Wenger has proven, consistently, that a CL place is absolutely wasted on Arsenal.
..or any other English team then? ... indeed there is an argument that it is a waste of time for all but Barca, Real and Bayern. ..

Indeed, Fossil.

Which is why it is utterly ridiculous that the likes of United, Chelsea and 'Pool want to be part of a "super" league. I note that Arsenal haven't even bothered making noises along those lines.

Actually, it would be hilarious if 'Pool did join a "super" league, because they'd get relegated in their first season, back down to the '****e" league, heaping even more humiliation on to the already-burdened shoulders of Mousers, worldwide.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, CFC.

Arsenal struggle towards the business end of European competition, because they've never been there.
