I keep hearing how we have no alternative signing for the left wing now N'Zogbia looks nailed on for Villa, if that is the case then its certainly a bad move from Brucie.

We are crying out for creativity on the left hand side

Surely we are looking at someone

like i say im a Brucie man but we have had no one to replace bent and no alternative winger.
He is gambling with his job we lacked forwards last year he will not be forgiven twice

Do I feel the start of a Bruce-Out thread here.

We have all been saying how well he's done and now he's risking his job?? Ha'way lads get a grip - the season hasn't started and the transfer window is still firmly lodged open for another 35 days (ish). We got done very quickly and got some quality - after Bent's departure my personal opinion is that the defence let us down a lot more than the forwards - i.e. if your forward doesn't score then at least you can gain a point. If your defenders can't defend then your forwards have to score more - we scored goals in the losing streak but we conceded some horrendous ones and the defence (and, dare I say it Mig) were poor. We've strengthened some extremely key areas as a squad and the team will be better for it

I'm certainly not going down the 'Bruce out' route, indeed he has my full backing right now.

What anyone has to admit, is for all the overall depth and balance is improved, there are 3 positions that we are weak, left back, left mid, and up top.

These are the same 3 positons that we were weak last season, and it makes no sense as to why we haven't moved.

We haven't even contemplated a left back, which is bizarre.

I think O'Shea will be used primarily as a left back with Bardsley and Richardson offering alternatives when required.

I can see him starting with something along the lines of Brown, Bramble, Turner, O'Shea.

Bruce always said Bramble and Turner were his 1st choice and in the few games they managed together did pretty well last season (obv barring the Mags game!!).

Personally I would like to see Brown move inside in place of Bramble and play Bardsley ar right back but I believe he will go with the above (just my opinion mind, no inside knowledge!).

Regarding left midfield I think this is slightly more of a concern than left back, especially with Sessegnon turning out to be a more central player than we all first thought.

I know we have Steed and Richardson who could play there, and I suspect we will see the likes of Vaughan and Colback tried there earlier in the season, but I would have loved to see a new left sider. Welbeck out there was a great option too last year as well as Zenden from time to time.

Brucie has been talking about loans the past few days so maybe the left side is something that could address.

Still delighted at our business so far. Being realistic we have had to cut back from the Keane days and not for a minute did I expect us to spend the Bent/Henderson money on 1 or 2 players in 1 window.

we all have the disadvantage of not seeing what Bruce sees on the training ground.

LB..Maybe he sees Bardo/Richardson/OShea as the answer and does not feel we can get better with the cash he has.

LW..A puzzle to us all but maybe again Richardson/Steed/Wickham/Vaughn/Colback could do the job.e

CF..I think he sees Gyan and Sess first choice and Ji and Wickham more than capable.

Not saying he is right, just wht he may think and I still think he has an ace up his sleeve, maybe a loan or two.
