I am really surprised to see how partition most of you are.
Nobody is calling JT out. He is a legend and there will not be another player like him for Chelsea.
But his performances are gradually going down.
Last season and second half of season before, Matic carried JT single handedly playing False CB & Def CM.

Matic shows that strain this season and he is out of form. Which has exposed JT high time. No body dare to comment.

I know he is in the pedestal, but that doesn't rule him out of criticism.
His latest injury is a blessing in disguise for us.

Brana at CB is million times better than him at RB. Arguably he is our best CB at this time!!

I don't think you'll see me arguing with you about JT. He is a legend but, as you say, he is on the way down now. I also agree that there is no room for sentiment. <ok>

You seriously would wish for that? The favourites for the trophy have to be Sevilla, multiple winners of this competition in recent years. Vamos Sevilla!!

    Sorry Stan completely disagree.

Matic was poor after being sent off in the Burnley game in February and we stopped dominating midfield (as Fab's form dropped too) from mid Feb to the end of the season, winning games 1-0 thanks to JT's defending and Hazard's attacking.

It's a bit of a misconception that Terry has had a bad season this year as well. Our defensive problems have largely emanated from Ivan and central midfield.

I still think Terry has been our best central defender this year and for that reason probably deserves a 1 year extension.

Agree, he has been our best CB this year, Zouma has still been learning his trade. Iva cost us multiple points earlier in the season.

Any CB left exposed by DMs is going to struggle even quick 25 year old ones

It'll be a good thing for Baba to get a sustained run in the team, hes improving with every game. Same for pedro hes starting to look sharper now hes being played more.

Rather happy for Baba - again I was on his case for so long.
Yes was grumpy with Mikel - how he double assisted (as always) for their first goal.

We need to bring back Tomas Kalas and give him e a run in the defence, was superb for us in the Champions league, have no idead why he is is out on loan.

He does give away silly free kicks too often, but it is one of the perils of playing DM. Great servant to Chelsea.

Baba has played a handful of games in a poor side, give the lad a chance.

Why try out our promising young centre halves we have paid to develop when we can spend 50 million on one of Everton's in the summer.... ;)
