Matip won't be anything like Hypia lads - although I admire the optimism
He's known to be be very error prone and his decision making is on par with Sakho. Hypia didn't make errors (rarely anyway).
We'll have Matip and Sakho. Two very good defenders but without a leader they could be a disaster. Hopefully one of them matures quickly and/or is trained to take control of the back line.
The height is good and if he brings the odd goal then great, but if Klopp doesn't buy (or train/find) a top leader somewhere in the back line we're still going concede bucket loads.
A goal keeper that will terrify the defence into shape would be the obvious move, but Migs signing a 5 year deal is a very odd decision - unless he's happy to spend large parts on the bench and that was discussed during negotiations (which is doubtful tbh).
By the sounds of the recent rumours it seems like he's looking straight at sorting the defence out as a priority - but let's be honest, it's so obvious we need a leader at the back ANYONE would surely do the same.
The Tex rumours suggest we'll add a big money move to improve our attack. So is he happy with the middle of the park? Probably, given the comments about Milner and his fellow German Can. We'll see - but the hints clearly suggest we'll tighten the back first, then add some flair/width.
I wouldn't expect (or want) any more in one window. Klopp would struggle integrating any more than 4 players into a team, like any manager would in one go. Unless of course you're Chico Flores
