On the whole, I don't think anyone can argue with the result. We deserved it in the end. Leicester showed a lot of spirit, but that by itself is not enough to deserve to win the game.

Let's not forget that Ozil was blatantly fouled in the build-up to their goal and the penalty, for me, shouldn't have been given. Monreal pulls out and Vardy knocks his leg into Monreal's body. It's what Ashley Young has been guilty of in the past.

Referee was awful for most of the game, but its immaterial now.

I would say though that until the sending off you didn't look like you would get anything from the game. It changed the match completely

You've said on plentiful occasions that you felt Arsenal's title challenge to be over. Do you still think so? As has been said, the NLD is shaping up to be one of the biggest in recent memory.

I'm still unsure because we've seen from Arsenal before that they can get huge results but then they lose momentum with a poor result in the next game. We need to keep it up. Any more blips like Chelsea & Southampton and I think it will be over.

I'm still not as optimistic as most other Arsenal fans are, but we are 2 points off the top with 12 games left so I can't say that we're not in with a shout at least. It still remains to be seen whether we have what it takes to get over the line but in the context of the season, I'd by lying if I said it wasn't a massive result today.

We had looked a lot more up for it in the second half and we had early chances before Simpson got sent off, so I disagree about us not getting anything from the game if Simpson didn't get sent off. But we're never going to find out about what could have happened.

As far as I'm concerned, Simpson and the Polish defender cost Leicester from at least getting a point today. But that's not our problem.

You didn't get your first shot on goal until Simpson went off ffs!
<doh>

How the hell can you even begin to make a case that Arsenal were ever in the game up until that point? You were headed for a drubbing.

Hope Spurs v Citeh is like the Goons match. Villa v Laugherpool is like dropping valium.
6-0 and it's still like watching paint dry. I dont think either side have broken a sweat yet. Our gold mine side would beat Villa.

You're doing us a massive disservice there. But for Cech, we'd have been 2 or 3 ahead. His saves from Vardy and Kante were outstanding. The referee turned the game, you really can't deny that. We were comfortable.

Sorry people. A good friend of ours is a Liverpool season ticket holder, but we've seen her twice this season while Liverpool were playing. The last time during dinner in Liverpool they beat Southampton 6-1. Today during lunch in Birmingham (not that far from the ground actually) Liverpool won 0-6. I will try not to see her at all during Liverpool games next season.

You had one good chance from Vardy. That was it. You provided no other threat to us in the first half. I can't recall the save from Kante off the top of my head.

Obviously the sending off did change things, but that was your own player's fault.

Even before Simpson got sent off, we came out the blocks and were threatening in your box at the beginning of the second half. Not saying we still would have won if you had 11, but there's no way of knowing now anyway.

I'll split my reply into three segments, as you have...

1) Kante's shot was looping int the top corner but Cech clawed it out. Was a superb bit of goalkeeping.
2) Don't necessarily agree with that. However I do think that Drinkwater should have walked.
3) You didn't force a save until the 70th minute. Surely you had a smile when writing that? We had a good shout for a penalty and then a minute or two later Simpson fell victim to Giroud telling the referee what to do. It's a shame that the referee had to ruin a good game.

As an outsider to things NL, it would be great if the PL title went right down to the wire between Tottenham and Arsenal, and the FA Cup final was between the two best teams in London (Spurs and Arsenal) with their fantastic supporters

1) Oh I remember now. The cross-cum-shot that swerved at the end? It was a decent save, but I would have been really disappointed if that had gone in. Most goalkeepers should have put that out, unless they're under 6 foot.
2) Why would you say it's not your own player's fault for getting sent off? By the letter of the law, it was the right decision. Simpson had already been spoken to by the ref twice before he was even booked. It's his fault for making clumsy fouls because he gave the referee a decision to make. As you also say, Drinkwater was very lucky to stay on too (which I forgot about)/
3) If you're talking about Mahrez going down from Monreal's challenge, please. That would have been soft as hell. He was so obviously looking for the penalty and any excuse to go down. As for Simpson, it looked like the referee was getting his card out before Giroud had even reacted that way.

The fact you've called it a "cross-cum-shot" tells me that you're not here for a good debate, merely contradiction... so i'll just let you get on with it. Especially considering you appear to have a cloudy memory of the game.

Cheerio.
