OK, a good job done by the club once it got to know ALL of the facts. A fair wedge in wages released and we still have two loan spots to fill. In the cold hard world lets hope they make it work for us.

Who knows, we might sign a saviour!

Completely agree, I too have not commented on this issue, Johnson never attained the heights we all expected from him, probably due to the fact he liked too many beers, it is ironic that in his last game he,scored a good goal, what a pity he couldn't do it on a regular basis, a very silly young man and the, club have taken the only step left open to them, we move on.

I thought that the Window was closed and you could only sign free agents?

Free agents are what I had in mind. Eboue plus one other may help. Six month contract with a bonus if they keep us up. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

    Reputational damage :emoticon-0114-dull:

    I don't think that he's damaged anybody's reputation but his own :emoticon-0112-wonde

The club has only done what we have . . . . believed his deception :emoticon-0101-sadsm . . . . as soon as they found out the truth they've acted appropriately, which is exactly as they should :emoticon-0148-yes:

I don't feel that our reputations have been damaged in any way :emoticon-0145-shake

    Onwards and, hopefully, upwards

Gone and best forgotten, unlike a few others recently shown the door, this looser could have been a great success, with the talent he undoubtably possesed but rarely utilised. What a fool, he really is to be pitied.

But god forbid we mention the possible outcomes surrounding the subject a few days before the trial, in stupid threads. <laugh>

What a prick. He lied to everyone and continued to pick up a fortune knowing exactly what he had done. I am pretty sure that the club can sue him under the tort of deception.

Sorry. A stupid, selfish, narcisistic ****. Knowing she was a child and still doing whatever he did - even if it was just a kiss.

    Wrong wrong wrong.

    I hope he rots.

I'm not sure the club will be able to reclaim any losses/costs/wages down to him maintaining his innocence because of the right not to incriminate yourself. Suspect this could be an issue for lawyers to get rich rather than anyone else getting any compensation.

Shame. He deserves to get taken to the cleaners. No doubt he will.

The interesting one is if the club did know. Can you sack someone you know is guilty when there is pending legal action but they haven't been to trial?

It was inevitable and the club should be commended for acting so swiftly...It is hard to see any circumstances where he can play football in this country again..

I hope they didn't know. It would open a can of worms. You might not be able to sack someone, but there is no obligation to pick them. Even if they did it because they felt they had to treat him the same as they would if they didn't know it would open the club up to some serious abuse.

I don't think they could know though. If he had told the club he was guilty then the club would be obligated to report it. I don't think confidentiality applies where the safeguarding of children is concerned.
