Premier League Thread 2015-16

Oh joy. Liverpool blow a 2 goal lead, United get a Fergie time goal against them and we win. Life rarely gets better in my local boozer. I particularly like the fact that Sunderland scored their goals after the 77th minute protest as I know a number of people who were planning to join this. I look forward to hearing when they got news of Sunderland's late goals. Think of me in an hour. Roaring fire. Pint of Doombar. Miserable Scousers being wound up by the blue noses, who also got a good result, and the chance to say "That'll Costa lot" etc to any United fan with very little excuse. Puns for the Scousers? How about the result "Defoed belief"?

Karma - don't you just love it when Chelsea get an equaliser in Fergie time and then Van the girl complains about the added time.

 

Reading about the Liverpool walk out in protest about rising ticket prices next season....I thought it was a nice touch that the players joined in by stopping playing at the same time. A walkout wouldn't work at Saints....the board are used to fans leaving early....would just assume they were off to beat traffic/catch train/avoid crowds/early pint/visit the chippie (delete as appropriate)

 

P.s. Klopp won't be jumping about for a while after his appendix op.....the team should help him avoid all excitement by refusing to score.

When it gets like that it's no longer reporting but rather goading the subject into a response which makes the news. I'm neither a lover or hater of Van Gaal but I'd admire his defiance against ridiculous questioning. People will say it goes with the territory, but I think that nature of questioning is over the top.

 

BBC are saying man u are speaking to Pochettinos agent for him to replace van gaal. Hope it happens to put Spurs fans in their place

Some of his problem is his ponderous delivery....nothing he can do about that, bit it makes him come over worse than he is. Of course if he was being as successful as ManU fans want that wouldn't matter.....5th whilst playing in a boring manner being unacceptable to them.

For example, his latest attempt at 'humour' by trying to get name of the journalist so he could suggest he was getting the sack. Now reimagine that with Klopp saying it with a smile....would come over entirely differently. Nothing wrong with being your own man and not playing to the media....but you have to be doing well for that to wash with the fans.

 

Yes, I see what you mean. However, I'm not sure Klopp is exactly winning them over at this point either. Even though he's in his honeymoon period as a manager he's got a slightly worse points per game average than the disrespectful one [I'm so pleased with myself that I've forgotten his name and I'm trying not to remember now].

Being a neutral on this neither Van Gaal nor Klopp need to impress me. So if either are entertaining or defiant in an interview under unreasonable questioning I'll give a thumbs up. At least they don't make me want to

New PL logo revealed. I liked the previous lion with a paw raised, so the new one is just OK-ish.

 

I don't dislike the new logo, but the new sleeve patches...

I liked the old lion because he had a kind of nobility about him...I suppose they wanted to simplify it.
