I’d assumed that the PL was a closed shop for the top teams to win year after year, but here we are in Feb with Leicester still number 1 and along with that, giving all of us the chance to believe that it’s possible again.

Never has there been a better chance for one of the underdogs to snatch a Premier League title. (Perhaps since Norwich flirted with top spot in the 90’s). Both Manchester sides in transition and Chelsea reminiscing about the pre-Abramovich days with a season slumming it with the rest of us. Both Arsenal and Spurs are there or there abouts too, but no other “Top” side seems particularly fussed about wrestling the 1st place away from Leicester. Even the relative lack of transfer activity in Jan seems to indicate a passive acceptance of the current state of affairs.

I would love to see Leicester kick on and lift the PL trophy. Is this a one-off or an indication of a levelling of the playing field perhaps? Is the gap between a $50m player and a $5m player narrowing, or is the sum of those players as a team more important than a few star names? Either way, it gives supporters of teams outside of the traditional top 3 or 4 a renewed hope that maybe their team is capable of doing something similar.

I'd love to see it too, but Just can't. (Although been waiting for them to fall off all season, and it's just not happening.

I Just can't see past Man City. I have a feeling they will win it. Think Leicester play Man City soon. Think City will win, and that where it starts to change.

I don't know where Leicester will finish, but amazingly I think it will be top 4. You have Man City, Arsenal and Spurs. Can't see anyone else finishing above them this year. So I'd say (as long as Arsenal don't continue to crumble) Leicester should finish about 3rd-4th.

Leicester are away at Citeh 12.45 on Saturday and I feel whoever wins that will go on to win the title.
I agree that Leicester will qualify for one of the CL spots and I'd love to see how well they'd fare in Europe, as I love watching them play.

I'm with what seems to be the majority so far in thinking they won't quite make it.

Whatever happens, they've been a breath of fresh air this season.

I agree with the comments above, I can see them finishing top 4 which is a great achievement and a huge turnaround for a club that was struggling so much at the start of last season. I love there style of play and the high tempo they use - all the players work hard together and that's what I'd love to see more of from Norwich.

I do think though that they will need to massively increase the depth within there squad if they make the CL.... if not they might even struggle again next season trying to succeed in both.

Seems incredible that at this stage last season they had 17 points!

As much as I would love to see the domination by a handful of teams, I am finding impossible to believe the Foxes can keep this going but who knows.
Whatever happens, I don't think this will be the beginning of a leveling out in the Pl (sadly)

I think part of the success is that the team has been a stable unit that works well together and understands each other - something we, unfortunately, have been unable to do. They are not a team made up of great individuals but more of a case of good individuals making a team.

Dunno if that makes any sense but hey-ho !

I think what you say makes perfect sense and they also play to Vardy's strengths which gets them the goals to beat teams.
I'd love to see us have a more settled team and not keep changing it according to the opposition.

If they can get a result over Arsenal next week following on from beating Man City, they must believe they can do it. I really hope they do!

Yes their destiny is in their own hands and they have a few tough fixtures coming up - especially their final game away at against last year's champions.

Apparently one fan stands to win several £K for a £5 bet he placed at the start of the season.

It may come down to if their key players pick up injuries.

You could always try asking Russell Martin for a refund? <whistle>
