I think that was testament to Ferguson's management skills rather than an accurate reflection on the quality of the squad.
Agree totally and like Spurf asks: who do you think, realistically , is the person for the job?

So who could you see taking over from Wenger and maintaining the current level or better?

Could we interest you in a slightly used Brendan Rodgers? If the undertones of the question imply that there is no-one that is realistic who can do a better job, I would disagree.
Antonio Conte would be a good appointment, albeit we wouldn't be as attractive to watch (not that we play good football nowadays anyway). Koeman has impressed me on the whole at Southampton. Been a fan of Unai Emery since his Valencia days. Vincenzo Montella did well at Fiorentina before he idiotically got sacked. Thomas Tuchel has potential as well; did well at Mainsz and is doing as well as he possibly could be doing at Dortmund.
There are younger and more dynamic managers available who have potential to succeed at a bigger club. The oldest manager in this list is 52.

Aren't they the same person?I would rather have David Brent managing us. Seriously.

Wimbledon? The Jobless One said on Sky that his family would be staying in London and he would be managing in the Prem next year.

Liverpool (wouldn't want to bring up your kids there) ..........possible
Goons? .........wouldn't put it past them. Could this be Wengers last?
It might appeal to Wengers sense of humour, if he has one, to move upstairs and have Maureen working ditectly under him.I'd love to wum the Gooners with the "Mourhino to Arsenal" wind-up, but even I can see that that would be pushing it too far!

It's only a three hour commute to get to Manchester. The Jobless One said on Sky that his family would be staying in London and he would be managing in the Prem next year.

He has encouraged the spirit at the club that Nigel Pearson started last season. Just as Poch has built a spirit at Tottenham. Spirit is everything. He seems like a top bloke, but you do get the impression with him that he hasn't really got a clue as to how Leicester are still top.
Commuting is the pits of the world. I used to commute from Ashford to London on a state of the art fast rail link. It's still ****. I prefer to work in Africa and live on site because even commuting by helicoptor is ****.It's only a three hour commute to get to Manchester.
Or Paris...
