I know it doesn't really matter which month someone died in, but in the interests of preserving February's unbeaten record we can stick the chef in January, as he died on Sunday.

For 13yrs he was the President of Koc Holding - our lass gives the young'uns a clip for doing that! Brilliant find, Chazz! :emoticon-0140-rofl:

That reminds me of the gaffe Brian Johnston once made on Test Match Special. Something like: "And now another over. The bowler's Holding the batsman's Willey."

Mark Farren: Derry City record goal scorer dies, aged 33

Former Derry City and Glenavon striker Mark Farren has died, aged 33.

Farren, Derry's record goal scorer, had been receiving treatment for an aggressive brain tumour and his death was announced on Wednesday.

The Donegal man played for City from 2003 to 2012, netting 114 goals in 209 appearances for the club.

Very sad.

Aye ... and that brings our lighthearted banter back to reality. Another too young, too soon, a great shame.

I have just done some looking at his career and, after an injury blighted youth spell at Huddersfield and, briefly, Tranmere, he returned to his home county, Finn Harps, and then south to Monaghan United.

Maturity in his game eventually saw a move to Derry United (2013 -2012) and figures of 114 from 209 appearances and then Glenavaon (2013-2014) 10 from 15 appearances.

No fluke this lad; even Tigeroo would doff his cap to him, methinks.

Do the best you can, where you are, and he did. RIP lad.

Or Ron Pickering's proclamation on Bob Beamon's record-shattering long jump: " My goodness me, just look at that. He's pulled out an enormous one!" Whereupon, Mary Rand collapsed in hysterical giggles, unable to continue her commentary for quite some time. There's a shed-load of similar 'Colemanisms' too. Worth looking for, if you haven't heard them.
