Agreed. I listened to a little of what should have been his show today. Just so sad when we lose the good guys. That's life sadly though.
I just had the weirdest conversation about this with my daughter. I said "why is everybody dying in 2016?", and she replied "well, Dad, we've got to that point where everybody is getting older". No, me neither...
I kind of understand what she means, I think. There must be a demographic thing in there somewhere. Also everyone has a slightly greater chance of keeling over during the winter, whether they're warm enough or not.
The baby boomers are 65 and up, so would expect a bulge in the death rate from now on, but there is always an increase in deaths in January. Not only winter, but people hold on till Xmas, but post-Xmas reckon its too long till Spring.
I've just realised this is the match thread - I thought it was Koemans.... We'd better pick this up over there. Maybe someone posted in the wrong thread. Back in track. I'm beginning to buzz but I've git two days to get through before the game!!
Back on point, from the few minutes of MOTD highlights of Arsenal's cup game, that I saw, a simple ball down the channel had them in all sorts of trouble, with a forward sneaking in behind Koscielny (?) and pinching the ball. Looking good for our two speedsters if that continues.
Turning their defenders with an angled ball in behind did for them in the 4-0 win at home. More of that please.
Would we rather they played Mertesacker, slow and didn't enjoy his last outing against Long, or Gabriel who has barely played since October; both give you a bit of hope as a forward.
Danny Wallace scores the only goal of the game, as Southampton beat Arsenal 1-0, at Highbury, in a Division One encounter in November 1987. Come on Saints. Same score again please.
