If they can't get anyone else in before tomorrow night- this is great news. I don't think there's many decent loan options. I wonder if this will prompt Wednesday to have a go?
according to the local rag up at boro, the chairman sat down and worked out the total cost of the contract with add on's. wages build in pay rise's etc. and said forget it, its not worth it.If they can't get anyone else in before tomorrow night- this is great news. Strange this one, I believe another club has had a word in his ear. Middlesborough will of known what his wage was at Blackburn, so can't see that been this issue, maybe he's failed his medical and asked Middlesbrough representatives to just say the deal fell through.
Im not having that it's his wage demands!

The local rag up there reporting that just when boro thought they had a deal sorted his agent came out with further demands. four and half year contract costing 30 million.my maths maybe poor but that puts his wages at around £80,000 plus a week, if this true I can see why he lost his bottle. No doubt his wages were known, but apparently Boro have said his bonus and built in pay-rise package was completely ridiculous.
Said it before. Rhodes is an unambitious footballer on a cushy deal at Blackburn. He could have forged a name for himself in the Prem by now but money seems to be his only motivation.
I doubt it would have been a huge pay cut, but most players want to achieve the highest level they can in the sport while some go to China chasing money and he stays in Blackburn.Surely he has to balance that ambition against his present earnings? Why would he take a huge pay cut to play in the PL if he doesn't have to?

I wonder how the rest of his Blackburn team mates feel about his well publicised weekly salary? There won't be anyone else at Blackburn anywhere near his pay level, manager included.
