Why can't we sign up a quality, experienced, known name, we have had enough low priced options as managers ?

Because the Board want to do things on the cheap as per usual.

Is there any evidence that we wont pay for the right man or is it simply they don't want to come? At the end of the day they have a recruitment process and they must decide the best applicant. Appointing Pemeberton will tell us that nobody credible applied as while he may well a good in house applicant but he has no real managerial experience or track record.

very flawed argument .... they get a lot more than MOST players in the league .. and compensation can be construed as "transfer fee" a player can be sacked!.. at least 3 different ways .....

there is no evidence they will not pay .. what was SC on ! .. picking a manager is not the simple thing of ok ..."top man, top wages, good track record ( if any but the top 10 can have such a thing) sign here..
it is sometimes the disruption that comes with them .. want their own assistants etc from the past and that don't always work, ( Millen btw )was one of our best modern day coach's /assistants, ! so out goes Pembs Wade et al, a year later change manager he has gone with his crew and we have a void! a year later worse than now! loads will have applied even if just to find what is on offer, or they feel wanted or bored!

Next week will sort me out in the do I want to bother anymore department. I have a suspicion that Pemberton will be announced as our interim manager for the rest of the season and, although I have very little information about his history, I think he is yet another being sold a bill of goods by you know who at the top. The usual lack of senior management's ability to get something right for a change will lead us to our usual place in the starting line-up, and that is at the rear of the field.

I have way better things to do than support from afar a team that is run like a madhouse where nobody is quite sure who is running the asylum, and when that mystery person comes out of the shadows all we get is a smile and assurances that everything will be O.K. now that they have taken firm control of the situation. Firm control my arse, and if that garbage is what we are going to be permanently forced to swallow then I think I will go down the road to enlightenment and start jumping off cliffs or rocket powered hang gliding to fill my days.

A lot of us had the script for the inevitable written several weeks ago and all we need now is for the director to put his final seal of apathy on the latest possible horror/comedy scenario to come from Guernsey Studios aka. Bristol City, so when I heard the commentators on the Colchester FA Cup game mention us in not exactly flattering terms and I thought about how correct they were in their evaluation of our team. It appears to me that we are falling off the footballing radar when it comes to respect in a very difficult business and some of the happenings of this season, in the not so good department, have left me with a sneaking suspicion that it's buried in our DNA and that problem will never allow us to attract the kind of manager, and players, we need to even survive in the Championship.

I have gone beyond angry and frustrated to being able to accept that this is the way we have always operated, and will for the foreseeable future, unless our owner decides there is a better way than this. I don't expect miracles, just a common sense approach to the commitments made but I now realise that is becoming increasingly more difficult and unattainable given our circumstances.

For Christ sake Inver, just go with the flow, it's only a game, if we don't win bollocks lets all have a good moan, we get up the next day and turn the page, we all love our super team, Up the Reds and feel blessed for loving our Bristolian team...<laugh><ok>

We could always become one of those North Bristol Puritans and pretend to support the biggest bankrupt team in the area and have 50000 fellow thicko's swearing at us REDS..:emoticon-0121-angry

It's still my game wiz but am just fed up to be brutally honest, and despite all the promises telling where we are headed we are going in the opposite and wrong direction.. A spark of hope and ambition may bring me back to life.

I can't ask for any more - Pemberton
Isn't this exactly the same line that was offered by Cotterill ?

Yes you can ask for more. You can get the squad to stay another hour or two for SHOOTING PRACTICE
Then we will know where the bloody goal is

Cant ask for more my arse

Said before, pembo was part of the cotts management team,he could have influenced team selection, team set up but he went down the same route, week after week with cotts.
We need a manager with a different view to what cotts, pembo team set up was.

If SL goes down the cheap route once again, you really do have to think where does he want this club to go.Forward or backwards.
You would have thought after SL was bitten not once but twice,he would not want to be bitten a third time.

Lets see the appointment of a manager that has the credentials to take city forward, with the backing of his chairman.

That man in my opinion is one called Nigel Pearson.

But that was the case for countless good managers they've all started as assistant managers. Jose learnt his trade from the bottom at Porto and worked his way up. The guy at Derby was the same a good assistant but it took a club to take a gamble on him. Just because Millen and Tinnion failed, maybe third time lucky.
You are too quick to write people of without a chance, but when something was failing and looking dull and boring like sod you say he was hung out to dry. Pearson your new number one fad done it all with Leicester but I think at Hull he was ordinary. You my friend just jump on bandwagon if he was that great sone other club up north would come in for him but the haven't so surely that tells you something.

If Pemberton is given the job and we go down what then ?
If we were in mid table obscurity and the club had sacked the manager out of boredom or because they wanted a change and were casually on the look out for a replacement then fair enough.

    But we're not.

Will make a mockery of Puppett ashtons remarks if he becomes the manager.

    What did he say-
You will be suprised at the high calibre of people applying including some exceptional names.
IF pembo gets it,then he must have better credentials than all these high quality names that have come forward.

There are no quality names coming forward if you ask me and we are being led up the proverbial garden oath. Please prove me wrong please.
