Don't kid yourself/worry about it. The buggers keep coming back, usually for: money; DIY help; money; help with kids' runs; money; general child-minding and, something else. Oh yes, did I mention money? Parenting is for life, unless you do a moonlight. Great though, if impoverishing.

I have however brought my son up to try and realize his intelligence. If he comes anywhere near his Dad for DIY help, then I have failed :)

That's my regret with my son. As a toddler he used to follow his Dad around (who was good at DIY), then he left and now my son is more useless than me. Boys need Dads (good ones).
 
Yes, I like Portland too. The Bill is a really bad place for rounding in a gale. Makes the Bay of Biscay feel like a pond.!
The day after I bought my first SAAB I went for a drive and enjoyed it so much I ended up at the top of the hill on Portland, after visiting most of the South Coast as far as Devon.

Yes, Portland Race is no place to be in a gale .......... did that many years ago and the memory never fades!!
