Reports he has left the training in Florida and gone back to Brazil to sort out a few formalities prior to his move here.

I think given its not on the papers can make up a lot of stuff

If we really hit 31 there'd be a deal. we will not go higher no way...

Presumably we offered €40 million; they wanted €50 Million originally. If they've done their Research, they know that if we really want the player we'll stump up eventually. And they want to keep him, so they're not afraid to let the deal fail. It's gonna be the full price or nothing, I think.

if we hit 31mil... the pound has devalued lately so it must be about the 40mil still

I agree they wil lthink we will pay a lot more than original bid... but 24.5mil to 31mil is a huge increase.

The other point they need to realise is he's not THAT hot a property and if they want to keep him fine but nobody is paying 50mil euros for him anywhere in europe and no other english club will either.

their research will I'd hope also show them that if we are refused we move on and don't return. so they need to weigh that.

I expect that it is off and no more will come out.

matip never happened according to the shalke sources.

****ed up is harsh if a club wants a totally inflated fee.

agree it's an inflated fee but what i don't understand is if the CEO/director has made it clear they want £38m or whatever, why we don't move on?

ahh well i'm over it , least we beat utd to the lallana deal

maybe theres nobody else this january thats available.... maybe klopp likes him or maybe we low balled with an expectation to negotiate. but who cares? I think its been dead since ayre returned and e only know of one bid for sure and everything else since has been speculation in my mind.

If someone on their side or player reveals more stuff fine but. I'm shrugging at this point.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends how keen we are, I think.

BTW The Telegraph's quoting the Star, so that's the source.

    Also from The Telegraph's gossip:

Meanwhile, Liverpool have reportedly made a bid to sign Celta Vigo striker Nolito.

The Spaniard has been in top form so far this season, scoring eight La Liga goals and has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona.

The Catalans had been favourites to bring Nolito back to the Nou Camp but a deal collapsed when their proposal to loan the striker until the end of the season with an option to buy after was rejected.

Now talkSPORT claim Liverpool have made a late move to sign the striker and have met his asking price with his release clause making him available for just £13m.

    We'll see..

This one comes from 2 + 2. it was reported yesterday that the barca move for nolito stalled and he was immediately linked to english clubs as a reulst.

Adding our name in only makes sense as it sells papers and is an obvious link to make as we are in need
