Rosicky is 35 years old and has literally just come back from a 7-month injury layoff (played 45 mins for Arsenal u21s last night).

Shame, as he would be a decent option, but we need someone who can hit the ground running imo.

He's not back from injury, He's back from an operation, he finished last season fit and available. The op was an optional one to fix a long standing problem, presumably because it's fixable and he wants to prolong his career. He's been back in training a while and now going for match fitness. But he's not the most mobile anyway, and even a rusty Rosicky is better than Ola or Lens(who I believe can't pass a ball if his life depended on it).

I'd love him here for the rest of the season. But I'd rather have debuchy with our last loan.

Sunderland boss big Sam
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce admits he is expecting a busy final week of the transfer window as he looks to add quality to his squad.

The Black Cats were held to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light by AFC Bournemouth, Patrick van Aanholt rescuing a point after the hosts fell behind to a Benik Afobe header.

Allardyce admits he will be "busy" this week ahead of the transfer window closing at 11pm on Monday, February 1.

Sunderland don't have a game next weekend after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal, the next match a week Tuesday at home to Manchester City.

Allardyce said: "From our point of view we now have a week to get the lads back fully fit and we haven't picked up too many injuries, which is a blessing.

"The squad is pretty fit and Younes Kaboul will be back soon, Seb Larsson too.

"I will probably be busy in the market until when the window shuts."

The Black Cats boss admitted his side could have snatched all three points at the Stadium of Light, with Billy Jones' header saved late on.

But Allardyce was pleased Sunderland, at least, picked up a point.

"West Brom, Southampton, those were times when we could have picked a point up and more," added Allardyce.

"But this time we got a point.

"We lost our nerve for a while but recovered and that is very important for me."

What are you talking about. Is 'Ayew' really that hard to spell??

Considering there's a whole thread about him which I'm sure you'll have posted on.

As much as I hate Liverpool, that's a joke surely? Just because the media get to writing silly stuff, it doesn't mean everybody else has to join in.

As for Rosicky, they've just fetched in Elneny who plays a similar role, Flamini is ahead of him also, I can see them moving on Arteta and Rosicky but maybe not until the end of the season, they're still in the CL and they need experienced players for that competition.
Never seen AL to Sunderland in any media

I'm surprised that nobody has picked on Wandy's idiotic 'player by initials only' recognition system <confused> . . . . used, presumably, because he can't be bothered to type the names properly like the rest of us do <doh>
Perhaps it's because he simply can't spell them, even though they're mentioned loads of times all over this forum

I was confused as to whether he was completely computer illiterate or he was part of a new wave of youngsters who have developed another language again.
