Depending on ambition levels, the current player standard (bar a couple) shouldn't be used as the gauge.

Benteke is a upgrade on Balotelli for example, but is he good enough for a title challenge?

But we aren't good enough to aim for that yet. Is Benteke good enough for a top 4 challenge, still no. Massive mistake of a signing.
Is Teixeira good enough to improve us for a top 4 challenge, everything I've seen and heard about him suggests yes.

He would be a massive risk considering where he has been playing, yes he has looked good in the CL but so did Salah and look how he turned out for Chelsea.

All true guys.

But he's his own man so we've no idea what he will be like.

Willian's antics were not saying anything but total merc but look at how he settled and is Chelsea best player.

I know, hence me saying depending on ambition levels. Maybe my examples weren't great (although your response suggests they were). Buying someone like Shawcross would improve our CB positions but is he good enough?

Why's that?

Our strongest area is arguably AM. We severely lack goals and width, plus we can't defend for ****. Tex isn't the answer.

However, I'd prefer us to sign him to no one. That's not something I usually say, I'd have preferred no one to Balotelli!

Not sure how Coutinho, Tex and Firmino fit into the same team.

other than a few that play for shakhtar and yarmolenko of kyiv, yes lol.

it's like man u and man city playing against league 1 opposition every week

Not asking about the teams, I mean the players.
Just think, Suarez played for you lot does that make him the same standard as the rest of your team?

We have a lot of AMs but none of them score goals. Cout scored 5 a year? Lallana gets a couple, Ibe gets a couple...

He seems like an AM that ca actually get over 10 league goals a season.

In the end whether am is "strong" or not... it's like the rest not good enough.

So of klopp wants him we will see if he get him.. end of.

We ought to ask who goes as a result. Markovic seems to want not even to return to see if he's got a chance. Lallana can't cut it.

Firmino plays better at 9 like he did for Brazil in copa.

Couts is wide left in klopps mind which continues the trend under rodgers.

I would say we know what's in klopps head here.

I can see another right side player, a cm and a cb as klopps 3 to transform his options.
