Bamford wanted on loan by Hull as Steve Bruce looks to boost promotion push... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelseas-patrick-bamford-wanted-loan-7235519
I know we keep going on about him and he scored a lot last year, but what sort of player is he? Hold up man, speedy?
He never gives up and his finishing is brilliant, there's a YouTube compilation of all his Boro goals that's worth a look.
The word that springs to mind for me is "busy". According to this Boro fan, he's versatile... http://fypfanzine.uk/analysis/6374-what-to-expect-from-patrick-bamford-from-a-middlesbrough-fan Alan Pardew will need to learn when he can get the best out of Bamford, whether that is part of his starting eleven or a second-half substitute, but that will come as the season progresses. His first concern should be where to actually play Bamford on the pitch. The forward regularly played out of his natural position under Karanka, starting on the right of a front three 14 times and on the left five times, which makes his goal scoring record even more impressive. But there is no doubt that Bamford is suited to the central role, and with Glenn Murray, Dwight Gayle and Fraizer Campbell to contend with at Selhurst Park, he may need to make the most of his versatility.
If Boro have got McCormack, they'll be out of the running for Bamford. Though Nowich and Swansea are still rumoured to be after him and you'd expect him to want Premier League football.
Most papers are reporting that we're competing with Norwich for him, though if that was the case, you wouldn't expect us to be in the running. The Mail On Sunday are reporting that McCormack has told Fulham he definitely wants out, hence his omission yesterday (Boro have offered £9m + Kike on loan, allegedly). It seems Alan Judge is also pissed off with Brentford turning down the Wendies and Burnley offers for him and has told them he wants out (they're refusing to entertain offers below £8m). I think someone may end up getting a deal on him, he's a very tidy player.
Bamford is like a really good Craig ***an. My doubt about him is his own attitude and career path - does he really need another summer trying to propel a Championship contender into the Premier League? He's already done that and needs to move on. If he did come, I'd be worried about his motivation. Maybe a loan tied to a permanent deal in the summer is the way to do that. Happy if City run the risk though!
That may be right but only 3 teams can come up and we are nailed on. Some of these clubs are going to be in **** street if they dont go up. Paying that much for a player.
Reading this http://www.westlondonsport.com/fulh...ns-mccormacks-absence-after-middlesbrough-bid it doesn't seem cut and dried that Boro have McCormack yet. If they miss out and we manage to bring in Bamford I think our attacking options against our biggest rival will be superior.
We aren't nailed on at all. It only takes a few bad results and the others to start picking up points and we could fall away.
