Evening sensible, :emoticon-0168-drink: please wish Mrs sensible a very happy birthday from me. Maybe this cake will be less troublesome - less fattening too :emoticon-0166-cake:

Can't get rid of the bar staff sensible, no really I can't I tried and failed lol. Unfortunately technology is not my strong point, I read somewhere today that if technology is not a strenght of yours it's a sign of advancing years. So that's me with one foot in the grave then!

Technology is not a strength. It is without doubt the bigest curse of modern time. Not the medical technology or the mechanical technology but what I call domestic technology. The biggest curse of all is the dreaded mobile phone. I hate it, have always hated it and will never ever own one. I was issued with one when at work for "your safety". Yea right my safety my arse. It was so they could check up on you every 5 minutes if they wanted to and you could never get away from anyone for 5 minutes. The number of calls I made in 4 years of having this thing was 3. People sit behind wheels of their cars with the things attached to their head as if it was the only thing that mattered rather than actually steering or even looking where they are going. People sit on public transport airing their private lives for all to hear even if they don't want to know. People walk around with it stuck to their ears or checking for messages not looking where they are going and expect all others to move around them so as not to interupt their most urgent conversations or texting. They can't write anymore except in text speak from the age of three. You also can't tell the scytsophrenics anymore. They used to be the ones walking down the street talking to god knows who or what. Now half the population appears to be carrying out a conversation without any apparant wires showing. Kids play nothing much but computer games now instead of running around a park with a ball or something equally healthy. See what you've done now to get me started.

And, thank you for the birthday wishes which I will pass on. I told her she didn't look a day older than when we first met. She thought that was funny somehow and said she had aged twenty years in the last two. That was when I retired but can't say I'd noticed it even though I've been home all the time. Then she broke down and cried. Must have been the emotion of my endearing comment.

Victor Meldrew uses a puppy instead of a mobile, seems quite surprised.

Now I'm sorry, the mobile phone rant has made me ever more certain that something went seriously wrong when Sensible beamed across from BBC 606. He's denied it but it has to be one of these.

I'm bored, no new threads on here but then there isn't much to discuss, just more of the same. Roll on the new season.

Now having told you all about my aversion to technology you should know that I would never set foot in a transporter. I'd catch the bus as I do now being very green in more sense than one. Now we have the happy news, twenty years after starting to use teabags that I'm going to die any minute. What a cheerful place this board is becoming. Nothing new to talk about Argyle wise. Still in Admin. If ever I was going to be suicidal it might just about be now. Only kidding, I would not leave you muppets to live on without the benefit of my wisdom. You would all be lost and somebody has to keep you on the straight and narrow.

Is the reason this bar is empty because it is happy hour or was and nobody seems to be happy at the moment? The sooner this coming bloody season kicks off the better I think to give people something else to worry about and talk about.
