Nope - he was one of the guys in the box. I look forward to seeing how he performs when he joins one. Anyway lads and lasses good luck in the cup and league - good night.
*Kantes Jealousy, I guess. Vardy could score 30 goals but if Kane scores 20 he'd still be the better player. Still not a patch on our "you're just a **** Gareth Bale" to Giggs, when Bale was a 17 year old that hadn't done anything. That wound United fans up so much
Anyway, that's 4 games Kane hasn't start for us now. 3 wins, 1 draw, 11 scored, 4 conceded. Admittedly Kane came on and scored in the draw but it was a penalty, I'm sure someone else could've taken it and had a decent chance of hitting the mark. Why would we want another striker, we've already got one and he's holding us back
That was a really satisfying win, I think we were marginally better in the first round game, definitely better in the Prem game and miles better last night so to finally pick up a win is nice. They made it hard for us again, setting up very rigidly as we've come to realise and so it was a tough fought victory. Son was superb, I think that performance earns him a starting spot for Palace over Lamela, who's dipped off in the past couple games. Wimmer looked really solid, it's good to see we seem to have a great option in reserve should Jan or Toby pick up a knock. Vorm made a good couple of saves. Great seeing Nacer grab a goal, he's such a silky finisher although still looks way off being match fit. Colchester should be an interesting game, think they're bottom of the table and so no doubt they'll be looking for a morale boosting win and what better than a giant killing of a Prem side. Although admittedly I changed my mind a couple weeks back to say they could be genuine hopefuls of top 4, I did initially say they'd drop off after the new year. I think what's really gone in Leicester's favour so far this season is that teams massively underestimated them. Having just survived relegation last season, I think many probably thought it was going to be an easy 3 points against them this time round but it just wasn't the case, they've also had two players in superb form, especially Mahrez who I think has been sublime (diving against us aside!). Now I think teams are taking them deadly seriously, with the two stars being pointed out to the point where teams are now setting up to contain the two and thus have made it more difficult for either Vardy or Mahrez to get a foothold on the game (Vardy hasn't scored in 4 or 5 now I believe), it's now a test for Ranieri to see if Leicester can either find a way to get the two firing again or to adopt a different approach where someone else can step up and take the burden off their hands, whatever happens though, it's been a great season for Leicester.
Just a mention for Vorm who has come in for a fair amount of criticism in the past. I thought he had a very good game made a couple of good saves and made lots of good decisions on positioning and when to come out or stay. Should do his confidence the world of good.
Agreed. I have been one of those critics but also appreciate it's not really his fault. He played well last night - if he can keep going then he could be a very useful keeper to have for cups
Well that was just plain awful from us. I could accept playing a bit more defensive at White Hart Lane, especially in the League, but yesterday was an awful advert for our side. Live on National Tele too. Ulloa was god awful and I couldn't see the point in having 3 central midfielders if we didn't want to retain the ball at all. Erikssen looked like a player in form and that 3, coupled with a sparkling performance by Son, were too much for the rezzies to handle. Congratulations on the victory last night. The result matched the performance from your lads, which is probably a relief after our recent White Hart Lane heist. All the best in the Cup and I hope to see you with us in the Champions League next season
Because I can't remember him running once. He made Beckford look mobile. He 'shushed' us last season after receiving a half decent reception, bit out of order to do that for fans who paid good money to see him perform. One thing Leicester fans can't stand is a player not putting a shift in. I noticed how much tracking back he did last night so credit to "MoPo" for somehow getting that out of him.
Pretty sure he got boo's prior to his goal last season, hence the shush gesture. For what it's worth, no Spurs fan *** APART FROM NO KANE NO GAIN AND ROBSPUR *** saw Kane becoming the player he's become over the past 18 months, he had mixed success in his loan spells, poor with you and couldn't get a game with Norwich yet averaged a goal every 3 games at Orient and Millwall. I could probably find umpteen posts where I mentioned I always saw him having a future here but primarily as a squad player/ back up striker so I couldn't be any happier at being made to look like I have no idea on player progression . The tracking back aspect which you mentioned, is something Poch has installed in our team and it helps really endear us fans to Kane and the rest of the squad, we know we won't win every single game but like every fan we just hope to see our lads give 100% on the pitch and that's what we're seeing for the most part, it's brought back a lot of pride for the fans who, over the past couple of years have been subjected to half hearted performances and the over reliance on certain players.
"Reminds me of DIrk Kuyt," I said. And I was one of his backers. I agree it’s great to watch a team you can rely on to give their all (almost) all the time. In fact the last two defeats I thought we might have been trying too hard. Against Leicester in the league game I saw Kane clap his hands before kickoff and expected an all-out assault. It came, sure enough, but lost steam when it didn’t produce a goal. The last two games following losses, when the team looked a bit unsure of itself, encouraged the other team come forward a bit, which made it easier to find openings.
I said "Kane for England" back when Tactics Tim was in charge It's always difficult to judge young players and I certainly didn't see him progressing so quickly but he was clearly talented and he did very well for his loan at Millwall for example.
