Wendies boss Carlos Carvalhal on the signing of Jordan Rhodes - "It's fantasy. He's completely out of our budget." That's that one put to bed then.
Well one player that Middlesborough and Derby for that matter wont be signing is Barcelona striker Lionel Messi who says he will never ever play for any other club in Europe. Another one off our list as well then.
Only the clueless ever thought it would happen. Rhodes will join up with McCormack @ Middlesborough soon.
Lee Tomlin available...reminds me of Deano...good passer/hold up player but blessed with no pace what so ever!
Liverpool reject an enquiry from Swansea about re-signing Joe Allen. Crystal Palace are considering a loan bid for Wolfsburg striker Nicklas Bendtner.
If Boro were to get McCormack, I suspect Rhodes would only happen as well if they get promoted, and not before in spite of the Boro chairman having deep pockets
I'm sure I read on here that he was on one hell of a salary at Blackburn, and one which in all likelihood could only realistically be afforded by a Premier League club. That said with family connections and a good opportunity of promotion it would surprise me if eventually he did end up at either Boro or the Wendies
He's supposed to be on over £40k a week, Boro were obviously happy to pay it, they offered over £10m for him in the summer. They're going for McCoarmack now though, they're obviously not going to sign them both.
Has an Akpom-esk attitude though. Do we need another ? More important is that we don't want anyone in that will upset the dressing room. Just look at Derby for that issue.
Joking and piss taking aside I don't see Fulham wanting to / or actually selling McCormack in this window. They have enough problems as it is both on and off the pitch. However the summer could well see McCormack go. If I were Kiki I would not be happy at all.
If Bruce is striker hunting either permanent or on loan can't he offer Aluko and/or Tom as a sweetener in any deal?
Why ? I suspect Bruce is waiting for the loan window to open up once the PL teams have concluded January business. I think it is so funny that others panic buy whilst we just go about our business on the pitch. Middlesboro especially look most anxious about us and reading the reports from the Brizzle defeat last week the Boro do appear to have some issues now.
I hope he isn't, if he goes for an emergency loan we'll have to wait until March, or the player wouldn't be available for the play-off's.
Leeds United have made an enquiry for Peterborough United attacker Marcus Maddison. Brentford are interested in signing out-of-favour QPR midfielder Samba Diakite.
Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Fulham striker Moussa Dembele before loaning him back until the summer.
