I heard he went in exchange for a 5L tub of Dulux Once and a family pack of Mini Snickers.

    Alvarez -Taken from the chronic;
    "
The eight-month saga over who owned Alvarez is officially over after the Argentina playmaker’s move to Sampdoria was rubber-stamped.

Alvarez spent last season on a year-long loan from Inter Milan. It included a clause to make the transfer permanent for £7.5m if the Black Cats stayed in the Premier League.

But having beat the drop, Sunderland tried to get out of the deal, arguing a knee injury meant Alvarez was not fit enough to join.

The 27-year-old made 17 appearances for the Wearsiders, starting just five Premier League games. His only goal came in an FA Cup replay at Fulham, and he never looked comfortable in the Premier League.

Not wanting him either, Inter tried to hold them to the clause

Alvarez has been in limbo while Inter took the matter to Fifa. Earlier this month Sampdoria claimed to have signed him, and now that has been confirmed.

“The ITC [International Transfer Certificate] has arrived in the offices of Corte Lambruschini from the Football Association,” Sampdoria announced on their official website."

Hopefully that's the end of it

Which club did Sampdoria sign him from?
    Why was no fee involved?
Why aren't Inter demanding money from either Sunderland or Sampdoria as their player has been transferred?

The situation can't just go away. We need to find out whether Sunderland are being made to pay Inter 7.5m, or not. If we are, then he's our player and we will have the right to demand a fee off Sampdoria, for our player. If he's still Inters player, then Inter will want a transfer fee for him...

I think if either of us claim we want a fee we're effectively accepting that we're at fault for the complete balls up between us and Inter.

What a ****ing mess it all is.

Exactly. Still no idea which club he has transferred from as he wasn't a free agent...

Graham signs on loan for Blackburn

More on the news that Blackburn have signed Sunderland striker Danny Graham on loan.

“It’s been a mad 24 hours, I was training with Sunderland yesterday morning and then I came down here last night to get things sorted, so I’m delighted to get it done, he said.

"I am looking forward to the first game against Charlton and hopefully we can get off to a flying start."

Where does that leave Jordan Rhodes then?

I think you sort of relinquish the ownership of the player in a way by stating he's not yours!

If both teams are claiming he's not their player, then sooner or later common sense has to intervene for the player's benefit. He can't be treated like some piece of ****, it's his career afterall on the line and presumably he's not being paid by either club whilst in limbo. His human rights pull rank over any FIFA case.

Then when FIFA decide if it's Sunderland's loss, or Inter's loss, which looks like still hasn't been resolved... whoever it may be takes the hit, probably after a lengthy appeal process.

My gut feeling says there'll be a compromise.

Hopefully they are at least contributing towards them - another one gone though and he won't be coming back, so space for another one in.

You could buy Rhodes for £12m nowadays.

    The Greek island.

Rhodes isn't worth £12m if Rhodes is worth £12m... I'd say Rhodes is worth around £6m myself, in comparison to Rhodes.

Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe is confident that new signing and fellow forward Dame N'Doye can help the club in their push for Premier Leaguesurvival. N'Doye completed his loan move from Trabzonspor earlier on in the week and Defoe has noted a couple of aspects about his play that could help the Black Cats close the gap on their relegation rivals.

He is quoted in the The Northern Echo, saying:“I trained with him (yesterday) morning and you can see straight away that he’s strong. I’ve seen a little bit of him before to be honest, and he’s a good player.“I think he’s someone that will help the team, and provide a presence up front. He will score goals, and it’s good to have someone like that here.
    You'll need it ho ho.

“He gives the manager a different option. It’ll be nice if he gets off to a good start, but he’s joined a good team and a good bunch of lads – the team spirit here is brilliant. He’s come into a good dressing room, and I’m sure he’ll enjoy it here.”

One thing that this Sunderland side hasn't had, which the manager likes given the way his previous clubs have played, is a focal point to their attack, and that's something that N'Doye can offer.

We are linked to Ayew - but we do have the worst defensive record so I hope we are still looking to plug those gaps.
