The Black Cats boss has been one of the busiest managers in the Premier League this season completing a series of high-profile deals including the signings of Manchester United duo John O'Shea and Wes Brown. Bruce would still like to make further additions to his squad at the Stadium of Light before the new season kicks off next month and revealed he is prepared to take players on temporary deals after completing successful loan moves for the likes of Danny Welbeck and Nedum Onuoha last season. "We would go down the route again if needs be," he told the Sunday Sun. "I'm happy with the size and balance of the squad at the moment, though. "People tend to forget we had four or five loan players last year who played a big part for us. "Look at Onouha, he was a big, big player for us. Mensah was a good defender, but I couldn't go down that route because he was unavailable to us too often. "And of course Danny Welbeck did so well we've got no chance of getting him back - which is frustrating."
if we don't get welbeck then i wouldn't mind bellamy, they both can cover both striker and left side positions, read on here yesterday we were in for milan baros(hope not), so in wouldn't be surprised if it's someone from the continent
For me the only position that still sticks out as being under strength is the LW attacking player, and as we all know these are quite difficult to come by. One thing I do agree with is Bruces statement that he is happy with the size and balance of the team. To reach that elusive "next level" our squad needs to have a balance of warriors and weapons. The warriors, Bardsley, Cattermole, Turner etc you always know what you are going to get. Non compromising, tough tackling and will run through brick walls for the team. By introducing the weapons, Sessegnon, Gyan, Larsson and even Gardner to an extent, we should now start to have a good balance of flair, creativity, and solidity. It's when you manage to get your warriors playing like weapons that you truly exceed expectation.
Agree with the LW position but I would add the LB position to that as well. We need a real speedy threat down the wing who can provide the amunition for the strikers as I think we lack pace on the wings.
