I really don't understand the whole 'either sign him or have no one' surely if a manager says look I really don't want this striker but I need someone please look elsewhere they have too? To use a rake it or leave it about the squad is an awful way of doing things. To me it sounds like he was unwilling to make Balotelli work threw him under the bus at the earliest opportunity. Wait till Balo comes back with the armband and leading us to every trophy available.
It wasn't just Mario that he was unwilling to work with. Moreno, Sakho, Can, Markovic were others that thrown under the bus. It was also very amusing how he talked about building around Sanchez. The man is a self publicising bullsh*t artist.
Yes but some are deluded enough to work on the transfer committee... In just hope west ham are not totally made up rumour....
Come on Jimmy, we know for a fact that there is a transfer committee. We also know for a fact that since that committee has been in place we haven't signed a single player who's looked top four quality. Rodgers was just one part of it so it's ridiculously naive to suggest the failure of every signing was down to him. Is it Rodgers fault we've just signed a centre back who Klopp thinks is only good enough to throw up front for the last 5 minutes of a game? Many of us have stated for a long time that letting a bunch of know nothing statisticians buy our players is a recipe for disaster. It's a sign that our owners don't trust the very managers they employ. I wouldn't trust these ****ers to write my shopping list let alone identify top class footballers Let's add up the footballing knowledge of the men Rodgers was working with (or not as the case may be): Mike Gordon - “Mike is well known among professional investors as being one of the brightest financial minds in the country,” Henry told the Boston Globe back in March. So that's a big fat zero then Ian Ayre - Royal Navy followed by business career in Asia....another zero Dave Fallows - A "performance analyst" who once said "the traditional role of a scout who goes to matches and then keeps all the knowledge in his head should not be seen in a modern day footballing structure"....so that's a zero again. Barry Hunter - Who? Oh yes he's the guy who had a brief spell managing Rushden and Diamonds the year they got relegated Brilliant....I'll give him 1 out of 10 because at least he actually knows what shape a "soccer ball" is. Michael Edwards - The legend that is.....a man with a degree in business management and informatics who spent 2003-09 as head of performance analysis at Portsmouth during what must be their least succesful spell ever So from a potential total of 50 I'd give them a grand total of 1 Can you imagine Shanks or Sir Bob working with these people? Can you imagine what these men would say about this sort of structure at Liverpool? They would tell you to rip it up and shove it where the sun don't shine. They would tell FSG to get a ****ing grip and throw this bunch of financial penny pinchers in the Mersey.
The fact that we've got Caulker on loan and that we may have bid for Long should mean Klopp walks away this Summer if he's got any sense. We're a ****ing mess.
I'm not a fan of Long, but given the current situation, I wouldn't be against loaning him til the summer. I wouldn't buy him outright though.
I don't think he's the type of person to walk away from something. I'm still confident that we'll be a lot better once he gets his ideas across.
Yes and no. I'ts a sign of how our injuries upfront are and that our 32m striker isn't fancied by the Manager (which are different issues). I'd obviously prefer someone better, but who in your opinion would represent good business right now (and is realistic)? Of course, if we do actually buy him, then you are quite right.
He won't walk away unless the owners give him good reason to. They need to back him with significant transfer funds this coming summer.
Penny pinchers? They gave Rodgers £300m to spend. I do agree to some extent that no one man is culpable but Rodgers should shoulder a lot of the blame because a) look at how imbalanced the squad is, b) how thin the squad is, c) how much money we have spent on mid table dross. We signed one of the top creative midfielders in the summer and then signed Benteke to compliment him. Two completely contrasting styles which sum up the conflict between Rodgers and the scouts perfectly. Now - we have a manager who wil happily work within this structure and will work with the scouts instead of against. If we have the same issues, then I'll agree - sack the lot and bring in Klopp's old team.
Simply put there is a range of items which point towards extreme prudence at best and half commitment at worst. Anfield redevelopment. 1. New stadium dumped despite probably being more profitable in the long run. 2. Main Stand redeveloped is good but anfield road planning got but no work done until main stand proves a success... or in other words pays for itself. Meantime rivals are no longer arsenal nor even spurs who will do more than us but west ham now who are passing us. 3. Player signings by consensus of a bunch of no names. It's all very much low end and frankly city and chelsea and arsenal never mind Utd are leagues ahead of us in facilities and structures. Lfc do not have robust structures flowing down from the top... it's a old boys blazier set up if anything.
Who milner You must be drunk if you think it's firmino Also Klopp's old team? Bit in consistent there Jimmy. .. Dortmund team not Klopp. Dortmund still have same structures they built up when they hired him in 2008
Yes worded incorrectly - but the people who he used to work with ie Michael Zorc. And yes, watch Firmino over the past 2 years and you would have seen how good he is. His figures were among the likes of Messi, Suarez, De Bruyne, Ozil. The point being, we bought two players who are incompatible.
Different level old son... different level. Firmino's done ok but he's far from a top midfield talent over here. I'm pretty sure you are exaggeratingog with messi and sonuarez so I think you should publish stats to back that **** up if you want it taken seriously. I don't really care about incompatible two guys. I Care About This. Coutinho... lallana...... Firmino. ... all play same position and and all bought in successive windows points far more towards stupidity than picking on Benteke as per. He's just another option
