Everytime i watch City and Big H is playing, i get more and more impressed with him. He still has his "one-a-match" Kamikazi moment , but still, a most improved and impressive player.

His ball skills are by far the best i've seen in a defender at City since Richard Jobson, and his passing range and accuracy is top notch. I believe he is a future England International and will be asked more and more to bring the ball out, which is vital to a Prem side...he doesn't have the pace or the associated "glamour" of Stones at Everton, but he handles the physicality better.
The contrast with the ball at their feet between Davies and Harry is almost comical at times, and Davies is thought of very highly, i think we have a proper diamond and future Captain in Big H and a player who could go and surpass the cult status of Big Billy, Skipper, Gareth Roberts, Deanno etc.......Harry is the one to hang onto along with Daws.....roll on Chalrton...(the game, not Bobby or Jackie)......

He is good, very good. We've been blessed with good young defenders in recent years with Chester and now big 'Arry. I thought Chester would go on and play for England after watching him for a few games, didn't turn out that way though he still has done very well with Wales. Maguire might have a squeak similarly in future years with national honours, I don't think the pace thing with him is as big an issue as some have tried to make out and he offers a lot more going forward than most defenders.

I like Harry, his all round game is excellent. He's still prone to the odd error, but isn't everyone? As I put in my MOM post, I don't think I've seen a defender look so comfortable on the ball. He's also got a great team mate in Dawson at the club to learn from to aid his development. He's improving almost every game and between him and Davies, Maguire looks more the seasoned pro and more composed at times.

Harry can become as good as he wants to be.

However what I like is that we have a defence that can be good enough for the PL next season. With Dawson and Davies already here and hopefully James Chester at some point before next August we have a well stocked back line.

SB will need to look for at least 4 strikers and a left back for the PL.

As for Harry ? well over to Harry now......................................

Let's have a bit of realism gents - agreed he looks really comfortable with the ball at his feet but, defensively he's got a long way to go, he gets caught out of position, he's given away some daft free kicks when he's got too tight and been turned easily, his yellow card at QPR was a perfect example. A smart PL style attacker, Vydra, turned him inside out several times. Hopefully he'll learn more of his trade alongside Michael Dawson, no doubting he had great potential ....... he's a long way from the next Jobbo though.

He can go on to be a very good player! But he needs to stop the grabbing when a player has the better of him! SB will soon have an headache as to who plays! :emoticon-0148-yes:

Harry I am sure will be taken under the wing of Dawson.

As a few of us have already posted, play a back 3 when Dawson is fit.

You play your best players and so far this season those 3 have been about the best when played.

That defensive line was not good enough last season so why would you think they would be good enough next (McGuire apart).

I don't think our defence was the reason we were relegated last season.

Surely it was our inability to score enough goals, or our inability to create enough chances to score goals?

Oh and it's Maguire not McGuire.

He can only get better playing alongside Dawson, at the moment he looks far more comfortable than Davies who sometimes looks like the inexperienced panicky youngster in comparison. I saw a Championship team of the week (http://www.whoscored.com/) for 12th-13th January which had Davies in but not Harry that got me wondering whether we have a (generally) skewed view of his relative performance. I assume the TOTW was put together using journalists ratings ?

None of our CBs score enough goals, Michael Turner used to, Harry needs to add a few goals to his game and then he'll be a legend.

Turner 12 goals - 129 games
Chester 7goals - 156 games
Davies 3 goals - 80 games
Dawson 2 goals - 46 games
Junior 1 goal - 81 games
Maguire 0 - 17 games

says it all really
