Harry is a good solid defender and can bring the ball out of defence and start an attack. He is, however, very short on pace and appears to only have one leg. I honestly cannot see him as anywhere near Premier League standard. Sadly, he is not alone in that department.
unfortunately most of Bruce's signings are not Premier League standard, which is why we ended up in the Championship - it's to be hoped there is a monumental clear out at the end of the season if we do go up otherwise we're going to come straight back down
We were very, very unlucky to come down last season through a combination of an abnormal spate of injuries to our key players, points given away in the last minutes of games and incredible "Houdini" acts by Sunderland and Leicester. The standard of our team was good enough to keep us in the 'third quarter' but at that level it doesn't take much to send you plummeting with our lack of depth especially in the front line where we had players who weren't strikers arseholes. I think we are still suffering from the old "Hull City - thanks but no thanks" syndrome where the players we want simply don't want to know us. We are due a change of luck.
Absolute balls. Every team gets roughly the same amount of injuries and if you asked every single fan they'd bemoan their player being out injured costing them. It's how you cope with the injuries that is the difference. Who are these key players exactly? Snodgrass? Dont make me laugh. Dawson? He got injured the normal amount for a centre back of his age. The only abnormality was regarding Jake. If Hernandez had snapped his leg on his debut and Snodgrass had played all season we'd be saying it was Abel's injury that sent us down.
Swanny suggesting in the HDF that Maguire has done enough to keep a fit Daws out the team!!!! Daws for me returns immediately once he's fit to return, his leadership qualities alone warrant a return. The one at risk for me is Curtis who himself has played well, should Brucey keep Harry in which recent performances merit. Nice problem to have.
Was watching an episode of Pointless tonight featuring a father and son team from Hull. Dad was asked what he did outside of his timber supply business and said he loved watching comedy shows and Hull City which caused much mirth from the studio audience and both presenters. Made me chuckle too!
I watched that too unfortunately they were knocked out first round but will be back again It was recorded in 2013 always to hear Hull mentioned no matter what !
Btw have become bit addicted to it. Have just had a total hip replacement done so need some stimulation whilst I recover
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35313650 Watford have missed players 182 days combined, Newcastle have missed players for 1042 days combined, that's not even close to being 'roughly the same'. Having said that, injuries were in no way responsible for our relegation and anyone that says otherwise is deluded.
And it all depends on which players get injured. Diame was a big miss for us for instance, as was Snodgrass. If it had been the likes of Aluko it wouldn't have damaged so much.
Injuries were definitely a factor in our relegation, Jelavic and Diame were on fire before getting injured.
How can you say that? If other clubs battling with us at the bottom also had key players fit and insignificant ones injured then they might have been 20 points ahead of us. Its nothing short of ridiculous to say injuries were a key factor in us getting relegated when every single other ****ing team down at the bottom also had key players injured. Players get injured, deal with it. And to say Jelavic and Diame were big misses.... Jesus H. That's what happens when you sign players with dodgy injury records, they miss games. Lots of them. Why did we suddenley think these players who are perennially injured would be fit for us? Its like someone signing Ledley ****ing King and then saying he's a big miss when injured.
