I know the "itk" Twitter accounts are all nonsense but with two of the funny ones saying we have made a big signing this weekend, suggesting a big fee, large than that for Afobe got me wondering who I would like to see for about th £15-20m mark.

Austin would be in there, not really sure who else as I never think we will spend that much. Anyone else got ideas?

I'm not convinced on Austin, as I don't think he'd work as hard as Jerome or Mbokani for the team.
I quite like Kone from Everton, but don't know if he wants to move, or if he'd cost that much.

Wolves had to accept the offer as Afobe is desperate to move to a Premiership club..................................................

It seems more and more like the board were getting our hopes up again. "We want to get business done early!" (*shhh don't tell anyone it's gona be freebies and cheapies!*)

Hopefully i am wrong and they do actually have a couple of worthwhile targets in mind... otherwise we will get left behind (unless we stay TOTALLY injury free).

On the contrary... id happily replace Dorrans or O'Neil
I don't think we need to replace them this season. CB and CF are (as always) the place we really need signings. O'Neil has been decent and solid. Good player to have to keep possession. Dorrans has a great start to the season. If he can rediscover that form, he'll be very useful. If we stay up, then yes, a couple of midfielders would be needed.

Yeah, i didnt really mean that midfield was our most important position this window.

Of course we need a CB and a striker (not just Naismith)

Looks like that keeper from Marseille thinks he is too good for us.

Don't know what kind of message it would send to Dec Rudd anyway

Wise words from Gary Gowers, in his weekly column:

The Benik Afobe to Bournemouth deal however does not necesarily fall into this category, with there being very little evidence that he was on our list of most wanted in this window. Alex Neil’s indifference when questioned on his proposed move south suggests he wasn’t.
Besides, £10-12 million for a striker who is yet to set foot in the Premier League strikes me, when you have a limited budget, as rather a lot. Or is it just me?
Instead, we have to sit tight, trust that the lessons of the summer window have been learned, act like grown ups and await news of a new face or two.
Fingers crossed…

I sort of see the point re Afobe but only if we get someone who is at least AS good! Afobe is better than both Grabban AND Lafferty. Is an improvement not worth a little outlay? If Afobe had come and kept us in the league it would have been worth it! If he didnt, we still have a better player than what we already have.
