Koeman poll

Today Koeman started with an extremely negative 5-3-2 system (which failed against Palace away less than a month ago)

Last 10 games we've had one win, one draw (against bottom of the league at home) and eight defeats. We've been knocked out of two cups. Koeman shows very little interest in blooding youth, refusing to start Reed today or to bring Seager off the bench. Decided to set up extremely negatively in an FA Cup tie at home. Hesketh hasn't had chances this season despite a start last season.

Do you think Koeman can turn this around?

I like Koeman. I loved him as a player. But for me he has to go.

Today Koeman started with a defensive formation to try and keep things tight; understandable given recent results.(a formation that the palace manager said caught him by surprise a month ago)

Last 10 games results haven't been great, but we did beat the league leaders 4-0 and have had numerous chances in several of those games. We should have been 4 up at half time against Villa and West Ham. Koeman decided today to give young Matty target a game allowing Ryan to have a rest and at last played two up front that TinTin has been asking for a few games. He decided today based on scouting reports to try and keep things tight at the beginning, but sadly he told another player to make a mistake and they scored. On the positive he made two changes at half time that for a while looked promising.

Can he turn it around? Can the Board back him with a signing or two?

I am not voting anonymously, I'll be voting keep him.

I like Koeman's honesty; maybe he has been too honest publicly with the players. It has been a bad run, but unless there is something that has happened behind the scenes with the players, I think he should stay.

I've been asking for 4-4-2 to be tried, not 5-3-2. Big difference. I appreciate a relatively sensible post for once, apart from the two up front part. You of course know that 4-4-2 is very different to 5-3-2. And 4-0 up at half time is an exaggeration to say the least!

It's all well and good trying to keep things a bit tighter. But 5-3-2 is very negative, especially at home. And completely unnecessary for me.

 

Sack him if we lose to Watford and WBA.

 

Although I am 100% in the do not sack camp, and I completely disagree with all this stick Koeman is getting, I am perfectly comfortable with people having this debate.

However those who do want him sacked (either now, or if we lose another one or two), it would be good if they could also give their opinion as to who they would like to see replace him.

 

Keep him end of. Who would we get that is better?

 

Rodgers or Moyes.

 

Bielsa would be worth a look imo.

 

Yeah I'd take him as well. There are options out there.

Rodgers likes to play good football and is another decent option. Not sure about Moyes personally. I'm sure there are other decent options out there too.

Benitez and Mourinho are unrealistic.

 

Whilst I would not be against any of those three, if any of them were interested in being a PL manager tomorrow (outside of the big boys), would they not be at Swansea right now?

If Swansea have failed to get them (and at least two of the three would surely suit Swansea down to the ground?), then I'm not sure that we would be any more successful. Especially with our recent history of selling players. - hardly an attractive selling point to a potential new manager.

 

Rodgers would mean I would never listen to a press conference again.

Still think Rowett would be on the list.

 

Moyes is a perfect example as to why we shouldn't be too eager to fire the bullet, His early career at Everton was one good season followed by a mediocre one until they became more consistant
