Hennessy has been inspired it sounds like...

Indeed.

Good to see us turn up for pretty much the full 90 minutes for once. Good to see Ron be proactive at HT for once. A good goalkeeping performance, a lack of a top, clinical striker, and by all accounts another stupid defensive mistake, have all combined to lose us this.

Tadic is taking like a year to decide what to do.

That's his bugaboo. When he's on he is aggressive, constantly running at people and forcing the action. When he is off he dallies on the ball before finally playing in puny crosses or a blah pass back towards our own end. Like I said before I think Bertrand's willingness to get forward gives him a great option, but when he is not marched with Bertrand he tends to run out of ideas.

You seem only interested in stopping Palace attacking when we are at home. Ever thought about how we are going to score goals with that system?

Blimey TinTin, come on fella. He has not said he is only interested in stopping Palace. He wasn't being black and white. He was just offering up some reasons as to why we may have gone with that formation. We may have started with a different one and still lost.

If you look back over the bad 9 game run, we were always having chances and very good ones, but we were not taking them. Neither of the views are correct or wrong and I think this is the crux of some of the angst on here. Some people offer up an opinion and others offer one up as if it is fact!

Maybe, just maybe, it just isn't easy picking a football team.

ExACTly.

It depends on what style you want to see. We're struggling with scoring and conceding atm, so why not in a cup game, let the shackles off and allow the players and fans to enjoy a football game. Starting a home game with 5 at the back is about as negative as it can get, yes it worked to some degree in the first half(they had minimal chances), but we've had so many more shots on target this second half. That is something we can build on and goals (also wins but small steps) breed confidence.

Incredibly negative in a home game.

Last 10 games: 1 win, 1 draw (vs Villa at Home), 8 draws. Knocked out of two cups. Speaks for itself.

The only positive is how much better we were in the second half with a more positive system.

I think we need to give it a right go against Watford for the start . Long, Mane, Tadic and Juanmi all on the pitch from the start for me.

Hold on, wasn't Gaston the saviour last week? I get confused easy...

We are in a relegation battle this season, it's as simple as that. The defending is awful, we controlled that game for the majority but our defence cost us. Long works so hard to have little help at all, the first half tactics were bad, we had a couple of half chances but there was no pressure as barely anyone made themselves available.

One win in 10 says it all.
Koeman is on thin ice

This losing ****e is getting extremely boring. Did we have any positives as that palace team on paper looked pretty poor

Second half when we changed to a back four we were much better. And that hopefully this will be the last time we will ever see this extremely negative 5-3-2 system from the start.
