We are becoming a self run club. We only spend what we get in transfers. What happened to the Prem money? If our owner was willing to put money in as well we could easily buy the 3 or 4 players we need.

But Kat is moving away from doing that. On one hand I can see it as a good thing as we won't run up a debt etc. But I can see it making us weaker on the pitch.

Can't remember what was published, but there was academy/training ground costs and don't forget that writing off a debt is the same as investing/spending.

Still another goal in us I think. JWP on for Clasie or Soares on for Martina are probably the most likely/best changes now.

What I was getting at is with the Prem money it would have covered all other costs. So it's not like Kat giving us a extra £30m would be a big thing. I should have been more clear.

What about bringing on someone with a goal in them and is a youngster? Seager? Or have we changed the desire to have players on that score goals and are young?

Palace all over us now. Maybe we should have stayed with the shocking but stable (bar daft mistakes) 5-3-2.

Obviously playing with an extra centre back instead of an attacker is tighter defensively. That goes without saying. But we can't score with that system.

I understand, I was just hypothesizing and without seeing accounts it is hard to know. I do wonder though if this year was planned to be just a little cut back and then go again next summer? Only time will tell. We will have a bigger pot next summer from the TV money.

£100m isn't it? Yeah I hope so.

He put out a team and a system to keep it tight and nick a goal, which is about as good as we are right now. That was undermined by a silly individual mistake, rather than it being a "shocking" system as you asserted earlier. Now we're more open and we're losing and under a lot more threat than we were in the first half.
