I will accept Seager coming on at half-time banging in a hattrick and looking forward for the draw for the next round - its okay to dream isn't it?
I don't get the constant slagging of Clasie. We likely do have too many players for that position, but I don't believe buying him stopped us spending on an attacker, and for my money he could be the best of those six you name.
It isn't really hard to understand why we are struggling to score with this formation though is it. Mane can't do it all on his own FFS.
Tadic tends to have a spell most games where he creates a few chances. Statistically he's been more than twice as creative (chances created and accurate crosses) than anyone else in our squad this season.
If anyone is to blame it is Koeman or the board. They decided Juami was enough, which he clearly isn't. You can't blame Clasie for the club not wanting more attacking depth.
Well well well a double change. The negative system he started with was a shocking decision. But at least he has swallowed his pride and reverted to a back four at the break. We have a chance now. Davis is off too most likely because we need end product from the three men behind the striker. I'm assuming we're reverting to 4-2-3-1. Davis has very little of that (end product) for an advanced player. I've wanted to see this for a while (4-2-3-1 without Davis in the three behind the striker. Although would rather it was Ramirez rather than Juanmi), so interested to see what happens here.
If you don't play Bertrand-- which I can understand because he was struggling in the last game-- you might as well not play Tadic. Tadic hasn't looked all that great himself and could probably use a rest, and the best part of his game is his interplay with Bertrand. So I can understand why Tadic is not playing. I can't argue though, that once you make that decision, you are definitely going negative. I suppose that is a fair criticism of RK today. I think he has based his tactics around trying to accommodate Targett. But whether he needed to do so is up for fair debate.
