This will be interesting, Saints do not win when trailing at half-time, or they haven't since League One days, so the best we can hope for is a draw and does anyone want a replay at Palace (that we'll lose)?

I will accept Seager coming on at half-time banging in a hattrick and looking forward for the draw for the next round - its okay to dream isn't it?

This is why Clasie was such a poor purchase imo. We have Reed that can already do a good job at DM. Davis and JWP can do a decent job there. Then there's Wanyama and Romeu (arguably wasn't needed either, although provides a more powerful replacement for Wanyama than the others). If we hadn't bought Clasie then we could have bought a much better attacker instead of Juanmi. We've got 6 players that can play DM at the very least (Wanyama, Romeu, Clasie, Davis, Reed, JWP) which is too many for me.

I don't get the constant slagging of Clasie. We likely do have too many players for that position, but I don't believe buying him stopped us spending on an attacker, and for my money he could be the best of those six you name.

It isn't really hard to understand why we are struggling to score with this formation though is it. Mane can't do it all on his own FFS.

I would bring Tadic on too, however he has gone missing in all the games he has started recently, perhaps he was tired?

Tadic tends to have a spell most games where he creates a few chances. Statistically he's been more than twice as creative (chances created and accurate crosses) than anyone else in our squad this season.

A DOUBLE HT CHANGE. WE'VE MADE A DOUBLE HT CHANGE.

First time for everything.

Well well well a double change. The negative system he started with was a shocking decision. But at least he has swallowed his pride and reverted to a back four at the break. We have a chance now.

Davis is off too most likely because we need end product from the three men behind the striker. I'm assuming we're reverting to 4-2-3-1. Davis has very little of that (end product) for an advanced player. I've wanted to see this for a while (4-2-3-1 without Davis in the three behind the striker. Although would rather it was Ramirez rather than Juanmi), so interested to see what happens here.

It does sound like we are playing okay, but it's just the lack of clear-cut chances. I agree with tintin, unless Tadic is being rested (which is a possibility) I just can't understand why he isn't on. He and Mane are deadly when played on either wing. Pretty negative from Koeman again to be honest.

If you don't play Bertrand-- which I can understand because he was struggling in the last game-- you might as well not play Tadic. Tadic hasn't looked all that great himself and could probably use a rest, and the best part of his game is his interplay with Bertrand.

So I can understand why Tadic is not playing. I can't argue though, that once you make that decision, you are definitely going negative. I suppose that is a fair criticism of RK today.

I think he has based his tactics around trying to accommodate Targett. But whether he needed to do so is up for fair debate.

Nothing like a dollup of confirmation bias on a Saturday afternoon eh!!?
