West Brom and Watford are interested in signing Andros Townsend from Tottenham, according to Sky sources. The England winger is out of the first-team picture at White Hart Lane and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is happy to let him go. He has not played since the Europa League match with Anderlecht on October 22, and he fell further out of favour when he had an argument on the pitch with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner after the victory over Aston Villa at the start of November. Spurs want a permanent deal rather than a loan and will demand a fee in the region of £10m for the 24-year-old. West Brom and Watford have made enquiries, and Townsend is doing his best to stay match-fit ahead of any deal. He volunteered to play for the U21s on Monday night and set up Spurs' goal in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester United. Just thought I`d post this as we were supposed to be interested and there`s no mention of it. Could be complete bollox of course.
Still reckon Spurs will try to to get him to go to West Brom as part of a swap with Berahino Pity Short is not 25% as good as Levy
Would you want Berahino at Spurs? To me he's not that 'next level' striker you need, right now, looking at him as a person with that attitude, I can't see him being a resounding success at any club. I don't know why Spurs are bothering, Alli looks way better in the role supporting Kane.
Mags rumoured to have bid 19m for a player. Short will probably be counting out his change jar for SA.
Ciro Immobile linked with us today. Don't know a great deal about him mind. Dortmund bough him for £18m couple of years back but didn't seem to do very well there - been on loan at Sevilla this season. 73 goals in 181 appearances and has caps for Italy.
Can't imagine we could get him, mate. Be a quality signing and certainly next level player for us. He was at Torino the same time as Cerci, them two were unplayable at times and he was smashing them in for fun.

Gassama explains rejection As well as the on-going move for Lamine Kone, Sunderland had targeted his Lorient team-mate Lamine Gassama, only for the right-back to reject a move to the Stadium of Light. Speaking to footmercato.net, Gassama has revealed that he decided not to accept the Sunderland move, after the two clubs agreed a fee for his services, when the club failed to agree to clauses he wanted inserted into his contract; "As it stands at the moment it's blocked. For me, it was difficult to go to Sunderland without guarantees, i.e. in a first step to stay up as they are currently 19th. So for me it was quite difficult to go there even though for me it's still a dream to play in England. We have failed to reach agreement on a few small details. I had a good contract for 4 and a half years (until 2020). It was interesting. After that, I wanted different clauses as regards staying up or a possible relegation. On this point, we did not come to an agreement. So I preferred not to rush and did not accept initially." Although the German club Hoffenheim are also interested in his services, Gassama says that Sunderland are still in pole position, should he move in this transfer window; "With Hoffenheim as with other clubs, we are still at the same stage. I think Hoffenheim may decide during this transfer window. The others, I think they want to wait until June. For now, the only offer I got came from Sunderland last week. That remains the hottest track." We may still see Gassama sign for Sunderland before the close of the window, if the 'small details' in his contract can be ironed out but the player says for now he is keeping his options open and although he may leave either now or in the summer, an extension with Lorient is also a possibility. http://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2016/1/5/10715042/sunderland-target-explains-rejection
Can`t blame the lad for being cautious. He wants to join a PL club and in a few months time we might not be one.
Taken from the Sunderland echo Facebook page. It's lunchtime! And here is the very latest Sunderland AFC news as the Black Cats are linked with Italian striker and Bayern Munich defender is in 'negotiations'.
