Never really thought much of it but not many "imposing" players signed by Rodgers were there. Most of our signings have been physically slight.
i've thought about it... a lot. Its a mixed bag. Toure was an acquisition at the time who's a guys who's dead slow, dead slow but tough as well and he played him for about 5 games.. then he got injured and thats that. Remember rodgers was quoted that borini's big asset was power and physicality... I was amazed We bought sturridge who can match up to CBs but keeps breaking down We bought balotelli and benteke as units and haven't done anything with them, we bought in Lovern, sahko and Can who are all units. we bought gomez who is reasonably big but is 18 as well so still growing. we bought clyne who's short but a unit too. he's a powerful guy who can compete and won't get brushed off. We have a whole litany of lightweights as quoted. To my view this league requires a certain level of physicality just to stand up some times. you've got to be able to complete for the ball, be it in the air or shoulder to shoulder or able to get your body between a defender and block them off. suarez was a very very physical player and great at all of this. If he'd been like aspas physically but had his tlanet would he get 31 goals in a season... I say no. This kid is a nice tall player, rangy, supposedly has pace, surely a few months i nthe gym would give him a big head start in stepping into the prem. Especially upper body.
lyon accepted a bid of 22 million for lacazette from newcastle but the player rejected the move, we need to get this guy now!! 22 million is cheap for a player of his calibre and someone who could slot straight into the team.
The reason he didn't want to move is that he wants to stay in France to continue to be visible for French national manager. Liverpool isn't much closer to France than Newcastle is.

6 goals this year... Guys form has been shocking. But year or two ago he was being linked with every big club there is... Said on Newkie board that getting players in Jan is going to be tricky because the Euros are coming up and people won't want to risk their fork by moving to a new club etc
