"I read the reports (of an offer) with great interest, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is quoted as saying about Juve's apparent interest. "But, I don't comment on every rumour." Dortmund have apparently already rejected a £22m offer for the player.

It would seem to suggest that they would welcome a bit if you read it as such.

Yep. They don't comment on every rumour but have done for this one. Not only that, but by saying it you've highlighted it too meaning this one as received special attention.

It might have been a direct question like the one van gaal got about league titels and no matter what you say you get it in the neck... but the wording just suggests they are open for business.

you are right saying you don't comment on specifcis after commenting on a specific = you wanted to say something.

I think its a tacit signal to up the offer.
