Thing is Prague when we were standing we felt like one whole unit.
We acted and reacted as one.
Couple of times at the SOL I have seen blokes still sitting when we score dragging there kids back into there seats.

Sadly I think the seats are here to stay.

Football is about passion, not applauding politely like they are at a piano recital.

Living overseas I don't get back that much, maybe 3 times a season. Each time I go to a game at home I feel more and more dissappointed esp. in 'open ticket sales territory'. Had a couple of games with my mates uncle in the north stand which was good craic, but that is it in recent memory. Would like to get into the SWC next time or somewhere with a bit of 'unity' as you say.... Can't stand people having a chat, blithering about what was on the telly or christ knows what else. just destroys it. I break out into muffled tourettes watch the 'f***in game man' yer f***in so and so, or sing for fooks sakes. Especially when you've travlled back for the experience.

I've probably gone to more away matches whilst in exile than I have home for about the last 10 years. It is much more fun and what the whole thing is (mostly) about. Bring back the terraces:

Absolutely right that a lot of the interaction is gone with seats.

I used to recognise more or less every face in the roker wing, now, despite sitting in the same place since estadio de luz, anglais opened, i recognise about 40 in a 'post code' style circle.

Fans of clubs like Hamburg, Dortmund etc in Germany, and Panathanaikos and AEK in Greece, are absolutely insane, but hey have large standing sections, which work.

It'll never come back, but it'd be great if it did.

I used to love after we'd scored, watching the Fulwell as i jumped around, you just cannot recreate that in seats.

I'm thinking of moving to the South next season, IF they make this proposed 'home' or 'singing' end there, The North used to be canny, but this season the atmosphere in their has died, we have about 4 mins a game if we're lucky, i find my self watching the SWC almost in envy.

The other thing that bugs me in seats is you can see people leaving early, i know people say they have valid reasons for it, but i think thats bollocks.
 
Oh memories memories. I remember in a game against the mags being crushed up against one of the steel barriers (remember them) Almost passing out cos I couldn't move and then being lifted up and carried above the heads of the fans to the front and being put down on the straw around the pitch (remember that) and lying there watching the game. Well that was until some copper decided I'd had enough time to recover and chased me back onto the terracing!

barclay court and dame dorothy, would love to see the look on some off the toffs faces from down sarff, if they got lost there. roker park was probably not the best situated ground around really, but holds great memories for many of us.
so standing for me also, as long as the bloke behind me stops pissing up me leg
 
Standing for me also you can't beat it i would love to see standing come back into the english game.At the sol you could have standing in the bottom tier of the north stand and maybe the south stand then make it all ticket for those ends regardless of who were playing giving each end an allocation and once there gone there gone.

Lack of atmosphere, people scared to move to cheer on the team in case some git shouts sit down!
Trying to carry on a chant and have some git in a suit and a red and white bobble hat look down his nose at you.

bloody hell, that brought a tear to my eye. i will always remember the man city fa. cup game, you couldn't move, it was impossible to fall over and if you dropped anything there was no chance of bending down to pick it up. STANDING
 
seating because my knees kill after 50 mins or so and i need a sit down
 
you just got to love the fat twats that take up 2 seats like inbreed geordie. thats how they fill the dark place most are sitting on 2 seats
 
As an exile - closest club is Peterborough - standing at both ends - went twice last year - once to watch us in pre-season in away end and the second time at the POSH end when Newcastle played - not sure which I enjoyed more - my first view of the chopper Cana or laughing at the mags fans playing a league game at such a **** hole as London Road
 
The away team buses caught in traffic jams, their fans waving their scarves out the windows.
Us lot pouncing and grabbing their scarves.
Had quite a collection <ok> and they never seemed to learn. :)
