In the past I think all their info has come out of Egypt. If you remember when we signed Gedo and Fathi the guys who ran the site had photos with them standing next to their agents and I think they said they knew people who worked at a bunch of Egyptian clubs.

The WBA can't make heads or tails of why Chester isn't getting in their squad, he's not featured much and according to one of their ITK sources, they tried to flog him at the end of the window and only paid so much because they thought they were getting Berahino money which obviously didn't arrive. TP isn't a fan apparently and hasn't been impressed with him. They expect him to be loaned back to us this month. With Dawson's injury proneness, I can see it happening. Be harsh on Maguire though and would probably be the end of Alex or Davies.

This is from the end of November, I don't know how much more he's played for them but it can't be much.

I cannot see anyone being interested in Elmo (especially Premier League) as a scout would have to be blind, deaf and dumb not to see that the bloke is a shadow of his former self. Sounds like his agent beating up some interest as his contract is out in June (I believe) and, just my opinion, I don't think we'll offer him a new one.
Chester is a possibility to return and we could make a good deal for him.
I may have been 'over-critical' of Maguire describing him as a one-legged carthorse but there is no doubt that he is very short on pace and only has a right leg. We need a bit better at this level - and beyond.

Do you have anything positive to say about any player from the team you allegedly support?

Not going to confuse our transfer thread with anymore stuff than is already on it, but the game has evolved, positions have evolved, RWB is one of them, but RWB has been pigeon-holed in the wrong category - if you watch it being used in its classic 3-5-2 format it is indisputably a midfield role and a predominantly attacking one at that; which is why, why, when more defence is needed, managers switch to 4-4-2. I will leave you happy in your tactical belief (along with many others, granted), but the way in which the players actually play and the way their strengths and weaknesses are exposed by switching formats does not convince me you are right - thinking needs to change and it has for some.

I love how you think you are never wrong, despite the majority of references classifying the wing back role as defender.

I guess you are of the age of 'Half Backs' 'Inside Rights' etc, change and acknowledging that change in football, for you is very difficult to accept.

What a stupid, arrogant post, why is change hard for me to accept? I would point out that the very nature of my point of view (whether you agree or not) is advocating a change in general thinking. Try reading more modern views on the role, especially foreign overviews where it is used not only more frequently, but also in a hybrid format. Your argument is normally based on what you say is out there, but you very rarely support it with anything other than the repeated tosh of Wiki. Try delving a bit further, think about how the two roles produce different results and just try focussing it on tactics, instead of making it personal. Or is it the personal stuff you come on a football forum for?

Under Steve Bruce, wing backs are definitely defensive roles, though under Brucey, so are central midfield...

Danny Graham would fit in fine, Brucey doesn't like strikers who are liable to get into double figures <laugh>

    Curtis on his contract situation...

“My contract is up in the summer and, right now, I am playing for my future. We are in talks over a new deal but, if the effort is not here to keep me, then I shall have to move on.

“I’ll be 31 at the end of the season, and I need to be playing games. I would be happy to sign on again here because I’ve been at Hull for three years and really enjoyed it.

“But I have to get the terms and assurances I am looking for. And, if it was that easy, it would be done already.”

“At the moment, I am just concentrating on playing football and the rest will look after itself.

“At my age this is probably going to be my last decent deal, so it’s an opportunity to make a stamp on the financial situation.

“Sure, you want to earn the money, but I need to play as well so I’ve got to be certain it’s the right deal for me and make the best decision I can.”

Based on this seasons performances and the fact that Snodders is back, makes sense all round. If it happens and we get a decent fee (fingers crossed), thanks for your contribution Elmo during your first two seasons. As for his feigning of injury and jumping around at the prospect of getting clattered, you will not be missed, bloody embarrassing on occasions
