Sounds, from this report, as if it'll be sooner rather than later! He watched our win yesterday, so it says here: http://readnorwich.com/2016/01/03/norwich-nearing-completion-pinto-deal/
I think this discussion points at two different systems, we could potentially play when appropriate. Against teams who dominate possession, Redmond and Brady further forwards makes sense to threaten on the counter. That's what Palace have built their season on. At home when we try to control the game, Vadis perhaps makes more sense.
Our resident knob-end is back on twitter now the window is open. Here's a pearl of wisdom - I don't think any of us had a clue this one appears imminent unknown @Norwich12435678 SNaismith has told Everton he Want to leave for #ncfc please log in to view this image at this time. Player looking very likely to sign this time
He also reckons we're going to loan Ruddy to Newcastle. Even if you're looking for shock value you want a veneer of likelihood, surely?
Not heard this anywhere else, but a punter came in yesterday claiming he had heard talk at the club of preparing a bid for Shane Long. Anybody else heard this?
It will be excellent if we sign Pinto. I'm quite skeptical about the Ranocchia rumours though, we're always being to players in Italy but nothing happens, also a lot of the players we are being linked to are top level clubs that have been playing Champions or Europa league football, it just doesn't seem legit, if they were playing at a club like Empoli, Torino or Atalanta they would be a lot more believable.
Naismith not in the Everton squad, so hopefully that means we'll hear something soon about that signing.
I really want him, but if we are signing Pinto, we don't need him. Unless Whittaker gets sold, and Martin is seen as a CB for now on.
Everton board on Naismith: "He's a good pro and a great bloke, but he wants to play and his opportunities are currently very limited at Goodison. He'll do a good job for Norwich as he always gives everything and he's got a knack of finding space in the box and scores goals. £8m is a great price given we got him on a free after Rangers went bust. Good luck to him." --------------------------------- "It's a shame to lose a player like Naismith. He has the back of finding space, has great link up play and will win most ariel battles. He is also a top bloke off the pitch and is a credit to himself/his family." ------------------------ "I'd like to see Naismith stay and sell Mirallas tbh....."
Surely AN recognises the fact that our defence looks so much better since RM moved to right back and Benno took his place. And an even bigger improvement with Brady replacing Olsson at LB. Which I will admit is a bit of a surprise to me as I thought he was our POS two years ago.
Naismith has only played 25 minutes since November, and that came in the busy Christmas period. He hasn't been in 3 of Everton's last 4 squads.
