http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba...green’s-latest-catastrophic-calamity-–-report I would like to say, I think this is one of Clive's finest efforts. I think he says it as it is... I hope the powers that be read it
This guys articles are all identical. Have a dig at Green (who has been terrible this year), search out every negative possible about TF and desperately defend and overlook the flaws of Polter and Henry. Agree Polter's criticism is way over the top and very unfair. But he isn't 'old QPR' he cost £1m. He is actually Steve Slade or Mike Sheron. While Hull sign Clucas for £1m we get someone of Polter's quality. That's Les' mistake. TF has left the football decision rightly to a football person and he is doing his bit and putting the cash up but being let down. As for Green. I'm not sure he is expensive after signing a new deal. Certainly not anywhere were it was. But Smithies again seems to be a case of TF doing his bit but Les letting him down. He is a poor journalist as he doesn't manage to connect all the separate parts. Says at start of article. We've won 11 of 47 matches in 2015. 2 of last 12. Now have a manager who doesn't even try and win a game. Then up against Huddersfield. A poor team blown aside by Brentford. 3 down in 30 mins. Jimmy Floyd Hasslewank plays 7 defensive players out of 10 outfield including Toszer and Henry who regularly hides when we have the ball. Unsurprisingly we see dross. But the 'boo boys' complain not because of the **** of the last year under Les, Ramsey and now Hasslewank but because we've been spoilt?! It's so blindingly obvious. The points are there in the article but Clive can't connect the dots. Then he shoe horns in. The 2 in 12 wins with being connected to TF saying promotion means everything. Does he really think the Green howlers he bangs on about wouldn't have happened? That it isn't reasonable to expect us to pick up far more points than we have? That if we had taken a positive approach in some games then maybe Bristol City, Huddersfield, Burnley, Brighton, Brentford, Fulham, etc etc weren't unwinnable games. That actually TF has provided the management with the tools needed to make or seriously challenge the play offs. If TF had kept his mouth shut we would have won some of those games magically and the crowd wouldn't have worried about a year of **** and bad on the field decisions because like lemmings we would have been instructed to have lower expectations JFH might ened up coming good but I bet that's when he gets Henry and Toszer out the team and adds more balance to side. Luongo in, Chery in, and playing a striker. Hope then Clive will acknowledge TF hasn't left tools for too bad a team after all.
Damage, you seem to be in dire need of a blow job to release the stress. Go and get yourself one, all your precious bodily fluids are emerging as pixilated words at the moment.
So sad but so true. It is almost like TF and his money has poisened the club. I can understand the supporters lack of patience as we have been waiting for an improvement for so long now. All i want is to be entertained and to be proud of my team. Look at the change in Hoilett now he is getting encouragement and an opportunity to play, it should be the same for all our youngsters too, we all love encouraging the youngsters at the R's surely Yun, Ned,Hall and Furlong would make a good back 4 with Ale, Harriman, Phillips, Hoilett, Petrasso and Seb / Charlie. That at least looks a more balanced team who i would have more patience with.
Don't be childish. If you ain't got anything to add to a thread then don't be a dickhead and project your own worries being personal but not input anything about the club
Good report although I disagree that we played well throughout the game, we had some good spells but no more than that. Also, he gave Konchescky a score of 6 and not even mentioned that he had gone AWOL to leave Hernandez completely unchallenged to score Hull's first.
I disagree that Clive goes looking for the negative, there just isn't much positive to go on. I find myself on the whole agreeing with most of his views. I get what he means with the 'old qpr' tag for Polter regardless of the £1m price tag, after all these years of overpriced, overpaid mercenaries we have a player with minor ability but 100% effort, and I'd take that any day over the likes of Fer for example.
Oh when I say I agree with Clive I do disagree that we played well, we didn't. But confidence is shot to pieces and the crowd are no longer on board so it's an ever slippery slope.
I think Clive has a point in many of his criticisms but it's simply his view and I guess there are many who are so pissed off with results and performances that there is conjecture as to who to blame, hence one or two regular scapegoats. For my view I think what he says about the expensive names in our team is spot-on, we're not getting value for money out of them at all and playing some of them out of position just makes things worse. The parallels with the Wolves team of 12/13 is frightening and shows how momentum can build in whichever direction as the season goes on, in our case it's the wrong direction. Those who believe we're not in a relegation battle must be watching a different team as this one is shot of any confidence or, worse still, desire...
When the club is doing something right, Clive is very quick to highlight and praise it. At the moment, it's doing next to nothing right so there's very little to praise. Think it's an excellent article myself.
A good write if over long. Agree with what he writes about Polter and Green, that the players were trying, the overall performance OK, the Managerial changes did nothing, and the Support is on too many backs
I always look forward to Clive's articles and have never been disappointed: spot on analysis and enviable writing style.
I agree with Rodney. I also always look forward to reading both his previews and reports. They are his personal views but I regard them as a good objective analysis and insight. I also believe he is a good journalist and writer. Yes, he is wordy, but detailed quality articles generally are. I am genuinely thankful for him for making the effort. I really do not know how he does it. Long may he continue.
