There's clearly no ambition to sell a premier league club. We are more than competitive in all areas except up front, and a couple of areas we are light on. Goals win games and simply we don't score enough.
It was the worse decision I can recall us making. Not laying out the money was simply crazy when the potential returns are considered. It was an investment that had a return, even in resale. His inclusion in our team would have made a huge difference.
Do we think Kevin Nolan is passed it now or could he do a job for 6 months? Both him and Morgan amalfitano are still on freebies
Amen - We'll agree on that. Where else do you find a striker for £6.5m or whatever he cost Burnley that will go on to score 20+ goals this season.
I want us to strengthen as I think it's clear we need to. However, I can understand the Allams view. They have spent an absolute fortune on this squad and the return for that was relegation from the Premier League playing dour football, and now playing dour football in the Championship when any manager worth his money would be dominating the league playing an attacking brand of football. Given what spending a fortune has done for us before, would you trust Steve Bruce with another 10-15 million if it was your money?
Villa have apparently offered Amalfitano a deal. Palace are after Austin again. Man United have recalled Will Keane from Preston.
Leyton Orient have struck a deal with Hull City to sign forward Calaum Jahraldo-Martin on loan, HITC Sport understands... http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/01/01/hull-city-winger-calaum-jahraldo-martin-to-leave-on-loan/
Was talking to a mate who suggested nolan, brings goals as well as a bit of leadership could be a good signing if hes not past it, brucey wanted amafilitani before didnt he, korenesque?
Nolan? These days he's Ryan Taylor without the pace. Six years ago with Andy Carroll causing goalmouth carnage he was possibly the best player in the Championship. Don't think he'd strengthen our team now though.
Well then... Matt Dean @mattdeanradio 2m2 minutes ago #hcafc boss Steve Bruce confirms interest in Patrick Bamford but believes there's interest in him from the Premier League.
Could you honestly see him scoring 15 goals by now in this team? Can you see him scoring a fraction of that in this team all season? A striker doesn't have a magic goal number which his guaranteed to score whatever club he's at. We do not play to his strengths, we play to his weaknesses. He'd have been a total waste of money.
I would LOVE to answer you, but on the hoy and I'll be shopping for a fridge/freezer tomorrow. I think any player would find Bruce a comnumdrum; do you?
According to the HDM Hayden has gone back to the Arse as there is a permanent deal in the offing for him from another club. apparently if that falls through, we might keep him for the rest of the season
Absolutely not.!!!! Bruce's failure to sign Gray, the best striker in the Championship by far, for a mere pittance by todays inflated standards, may well have thrown away our best chance of a quick return to the Premiership. The dour unimaginative defensive brand of football to which Bruce has condemned our supporters, the succession of losses to the divisions bottom dwellers, and his continuing tactical errors from which only a freak goal saved us today, is unforgiveable. If a change in management is not made soon I fear for our future. BRUCE OUT!!!
