Pride or because he didn't want to inhibit Ozil's development? I'd love Cesc back and considering our options we're not exactly flush for players. I fully understand why fans don't want him any more but I see him like a dutiful mother would view her crack dealing son who's now doing time. Yes you're ashamed, yes it disgusts you a little, but he's still your son!

Yes I'm likening playing for Chelsea to being a drug dealing criminal.

Kind of agree about not re-signing Fabregas, but saying he's 33 is stretching it a bit <laugh>

I hope we never see that duplicitous little snide anywhere near our club.
I'd rather we signed Nasri rather than that two faced little ****

I can understand some of your points but he was a top player for Arsenal
You'd rather have Nasri back than Cesc, now that is controversial. At least Cesc showed respect for Arsenal, not like Nasri...

Not saying that Cesc is an angel as he did the dirty too, but he's been more respectful than Nasri.

The only disrespect if any Nasri has shown is to the idiots who have abused him on the likes of Twitter. He has only had good words to say about the club and Wenger

Have to agree with Cym on this one. As much as I loved Cesc when he was playing for us, he ****ed us over big time by agitating for a move to Barca. Also as a captain, he decided to **** off early at the end of the season and go and watch the F1 racing instead of being there to support his team mates.

Fair enough. Sad though as i'd love Cesc back, he did wonderful well for us and was a perfect fit. It's a shame he had to whore himself at Chelsea to realise that....

I would have loved for him to come back when he left Barca, but I do wonder if his best years are behind him. Wenger was vilified by some at the time for not signing him again, but he said that he didn't because we had Ozil. I wonder how many of those people who slated him for that decision at the time would still swap Ozil for Fabregas ?

One thing we can say about Cesc is he was really good for us when he was with us. He is also technically in his prime (28) and was younger when he came to Chelsea. What is evident is a lot of good players are looking sh1t for Chelsea, so it's hard to gather whether he's past it. I don't think anyone would want to swap Ozil for Cesc now, but I don't think it's impossible for both to play in the same team. Also bare in mind that Cazorla is 31, Wilshere is constantly injured and Arteta and Rosicky are on there way out this summer. So is it inconceivable for us to go for him, I can't imagine he'd go for a lot either. But I think the most obvious is him being sold abroad.

    Makes no sense.
He wanted to come to Arsenal. Countless times he expressed his love for the Club. Wenger said no.

Chelsea was a good option for him. Cant fault him at all with that decision.

Wenger got it spot on with Fabregas, at the time, I wanted us to re-sign him, but with hindsight it's clear to see that Wenger called it right, he put his trust in Ozil at a time where Ozil was low on confidence, and now he has been rewarded for his trust. Fabregas can only play two positions, and Ozil is a far better number 10 and Cazorla has this year shown that he is a better CM than Fabregas, then you have Ramsey as well, Fabregas is past his peak, this whole year he has been utterly dreadful, at best he might been a squad player for us, but when you consider his wages and his ego, that was never going to happen.

I think fabregas has peaked, his best years are behind him he's followed the same route as Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney in playing a lot of games from a very young age and is now burnt out

    • So
why can't a DM midfielder also be creative as well? Surely these guys have the ability to play in any number of positions or are some footballers just so one dimensional that this is their position and anywhere else and they like a fish out of water.
    • Hopefully we are not saying the same thing about the likes of Inaki Williams, Messi, Suarez, Neymar or Ronaldo who are an absolute joy to watch whoever you support and have played from a very young age themselves.
