First pen was never a pen.

But we just didn't convert chances again.

I think the pens were fair enough tbh but the guy diverts the clearance with his hands in the build up to the third and oh Yeh drop Howard time lol

Liverpool doing well against Watford so far 2nd half to go though....

He has Joel and won't use him!

About time old brown shoes got a defensive coach in I think along with a goalkeeper at least...
Yep.

Glad I decided against going yesterday due to the roads, as I'd have been ****ing fuming seeing us chuck away yet another 3 points in the dying minutes through defensive ineptitude.

Only saw the highlights on MoTD, but what a ****ing game! Seemed a draw would be fair, but Shaqiri - what a player. God, I whigned and moaned for us to spend that amount on him rather than balotelli. What sort of loon would pick Balotelli over Shaqiri?

Anyway. thought the pen was iffy tosay the least, but be aware of the 'got a touch on it' argument, as the ref could well have still considered it not a firm enough touch to take it back to the keeper before Stones took Arnowhatsit down with his trailing leg. If it was strong enough to get through though, is that not a back pass?

Anyway, you didn't deserve to lose that, but I suppose you got lucky against Newcastle at the death on Boxing Day. I suspect the Karmic wheel may well spin against us tomorrow against Sunderland for the one Sakho got away with against Leicester... <whistle>

Got home yesterday about 2.30pm after setting off @ 12pm. daughter drove, and we made York in about 1.45 hours, but we spent ages on the ring road here as, I'm sure you'll imagine, nobody can travel in the centre of York due to the floods, so people have been doing 15 mile, 1.30 hour journeys round the ring road to do a journey that would normally be 15 minutes.

The weather was sound though, yesterday, and apart from a 50mph speed limit practically from Birchwood to Leeds (no great hardship, tbh) the M62 was fine. The other direction though seemed, around the Manchester area anyway, to be a non-moving jam. Miles long one just at the turnoff for Liverpool on the M62 at Manchester. You probably made the right decision, mate.

Cheers bud. My daughter had gone that way the day before and she was sat for 2 hrs on the M62. It's always chocker on the Liverpool turn off due to the Trafford centre traffic, so I'm glad I swerved it. I hate that road with a passion.

Was your house Ok mate?

Yeah. Got to the green about half a mile down, but it's going down now. Will supposedly peak again on New Year's Eve, but fingers crossed that the worst is over. :emoticon-0141-whew:

Yup we sure didn't deserve to lose but that's footy :emoticon-0121-angry

I wish he would get a defensive coach in as without the goals the other end we'd be goosed...

Have to say if we didn't stand off spurs like a bunch of tarts in the first half I reckon we could have shown more confidence and ****ed em tbh...

In fairness they were very good in the 1st half, but you're right we did stand off them and it was a crap tactic as one thing they aren't blessed with is pace, so I didn't understand the strategy from Martinez.

2nd half was a different game, we got in their faces more and didn't allow them the freedom to wander 15 yards into our half unopposed.

We looked the more dangerous of the 2 sides after that, and could have snatched it towards the end.

Good game though, enjoyed it.
